Rating: Summary: Sidney Sheldon suceeds again Review: Sidney Sheldon I think is one of the best authors ever! I have written to him several time, and he has personally written me back. I read this book in days because I really got in to it. I young women starts a big building business. She becomes obsessed with it. When accidents start heppening, and affairs come in, she has to wonder, are they really accidents, and is really safe to have theses affairs?
Rating: Summary: Stars shine down sparkling... Review: Stars shine down...its like shimmering sparkling down with the twinkling shine...Sure Sid's book are all great but this one I felt has a theme of a beautiful Lara Cameron who is a self made billionaire whose character in the book revolves round fortune n fame. Interesting to read as Lara struggles to reign into male domain and portrays a ruthless character feeling insecure at times. She has busy appointments for the day and strive to achieve for more as she travels from London to New York and Reno to Rome and when her fortune dwindles, its the pages you never stop to read. At times the theme seems fine but bit too heavy with stepping in of Alder who offers Lara an exciting new dimensions at a price to pay that threatens to destroy them both. A nice book to read to kill time when you have lots to spare.
Rating: Summary: A Good Read Review: The iron butterfly, as the main character is nicknamed, is a brilliant charachter. She is smart and a cut throat business woman. The book is somewhat slow in the beginning but picks up after that and makes you want to continue reading until the end. Once again, Sheldon puts in the suprise ending. I recommend it.

Rating: Summary: Sidney creates a strong female character in Lara Cameron Review: THE STARS SHINE DOWN is the story of Lara Cameron, who grows up in poverty in Nova Scotia (Glace Bay) only to become one of the richest women in the world through the developement of a vast real estate empire. The public only knows her as Lara Cameron, powerful real estate developer. She leads them all to believe her father was also a rich real estate developer from Scotland, but the truth is, she grew up with an abusive father who was only glad to be rid of her. But through the contacts she makes early on in her life, she learns how to become independent and leaves Canada for a new life in the States. And from there her empire takes off. Within the story is a mystery - as Lara gets more powerful, she notices "things" starting to happen. She befriends a man that she suspects is affiliated with the mafia, and they start an affair. At one point she suspects foul play (to her advantage) in the development of one of her buildings, and she starts to think that Paul Martin is behind it. She does not know if she can trust him. As the story progresses, we learn more about the people who are close to her, and it is not until the very end that the mystery is unravelled and we learn who had been the one behind a number of accidents and other unscrupuolous dealings to help Lara build her empire. I liked this book. It's one of Sidney Sheldon's better novels. As always, it was fast reading and well written. The characters are all memorable and you can always sympathize with the main character. A must-read for all fan.
Rating: Summary: it is one of my favorite boooks. Review: The starshine down is one of the interesting books i've read. it shows how Laura worked her way to the top of the world in these circumstances. and how her dreams came true.
Rating: Summary: Entertaining reading Review: This book is definately worth reading, but it is not Sidney Sheldon's best work. The story was over a bit too quickly for my liking. The storyline and characters did not have the time to develop as nicely as in "The Rage of Angels" or "If Tomorrow Comes." Still, better than most novels by ordinary authors. Sidney Sheldon is the master at plot turns and this book is no exception. Makes nice reading if you are short on time.
Rating: Summary: ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!! Review: This book is on of the best books i have ever read. It takes the story of a young modern woman and tells you how she can change from rags to riches. I was so into the book, I just couldn't put it down. I reccomend this book to anyone. Sidney Sheldon at his best!!!
Rating: Summary: readable novel Review: This is a beach book if you don't have anything to read. I am not going to read another Sheldon's book based on this one. The plot is there but the whole novel read like a condensed version. The sentences are basic and bare. The events happened so fast you never feel involved. Try Nelson DeMille's or John Sandford's.
Rating: Summary: Sheldon has hit another bulls eye! Review: this is one of the best Sheldon has written. i love Lara Cameron (as i love Kate Blackwell in "Master of the Game" and Tracy Whitney in "If Tomorrow Comes"). Lara showed the many facets of a woman's strengths, and weaknesses. i know that she is fiction and too good to be true, but 'she' is not impossible. one time in my life, her character served as a great inspiration to me. "The Stars Shine Down" is definitely a five-star! (i lost the copy i bought, and read, several years ago. so i bought another copy. it's a good book to own.)
