Rating: Summary: A Spellbinding Love Story Review: Can you imagine loving someone so much you would do anything for them? Can you imagine knowing that they don't love you back? You put out all your strength to gain their trust and love and not get anything in return. Living live with our significant other is what God intended for us to do. But what if the person God has chosen for you, won't even open her hart to let you have a glimpse? Would you keep trying or would you give up and live the rest of your life miserable and alone? This was the decisions forced upon Michael Hosea. Michael Hosea is a farmer who works his fields by day and reads the bible by night. Angel, who was sold into prostitution at the age of 8, is struggling with her troubled past. She doesn't open her heart for anyone, especially men who promise her the world. When God tells Michael to marry Angel, he hesitated, but did as he was told. She convinces herself that he is just going to hurt her like all the others and does everything in her power not to get close to him. She is so stubborn it frustrates him, but God tells him to keep trying. This book files you with so many different emotions at once. Happiness, joy, anger, pity, sadness and sorrow, are just a few. At many point of the book you want to break down and cry, or scream out to the characters. Francine Rivers does a wonderful job of bring the story to life. With the setting in California's gold country, in the 1850's, it's a timeless love story that will take your breath away. Her words trigger your imagination, making this novel spellbinding.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful, touching, faithful Review: I truly enjoyed this retelling of an old story. Aside from being an interesting, exciting and touching story, it is a great reminder of the kind of love God has for us and for everyone.

Thank you Francine Rivers and thank you Lord for giving her the inspiration and the Bible so she could write or rewrite this wonderful story. This book will make you want to take a story in the Bible and expand on it. I wanted to get deeper into the word after I read this book. Praise God!! He is ONE! Ephesians 4:4-6. ACTS 2:38
Rating: Summary: A Great novel Review: I loved this book! This novel started me on the Francine Rivers craze. A very inspiring novel.
Rating: Summary: What an incredible book! Review: I hardly know where to begin in describing this wonderful story told by a master storyteller, Francine Rivers. It is simply one of the best novels I have ever read. I highly recommend it to anyone, but especially to those who have had difficult lives and struggle to accept themselves for who they really are: loveable and beautiful in the sight of God. I was moved to tears by the story of Angel, and the wonderful man of God named Michael Hosea, who perseveres to show her the unconditional love of God. Coming from a difficult past myself, I saw my own broken, needy heart in the person of Angel. "Redeeming Love" is one of those books that doesn't just move you--it changes you. God really used it in my own life, and I know He can use it in so many others' as well! I strongly recommend it!
Rating: Summary: A Super-charged Emotional Read Review: REDEEMING LOVE is an historical romance that doubles as an allegory for the Biblical story of Hosea. It was actually the first book that Rivers wrote as a new Christian but was published in this market sixth. If you're not familiar with Hosea then I suggest you sit and read that (Old Testament) book first. In it, God commands Hosea to take a prostitute as his wife. The prostitute is unfaithful and leaves but God commands Hosea to find her, forgive her and accept her again, as an example of how much He loves Israel. It is a powerful story of bitter-sweet love and extreme forgiveness. That same story is re-told here, in the setting of the old west. It is just as extreme and just as powerful. Rivers is the queen of character development and that strength is played upon even more than usual here. In the end, REDEEMING LOVE is a super-charged and emotional read that will both bring you to tears and give you a much deeper understanding of just how much God really loves you. FIVE STARS.
Rating: Summary: The Best Review: Many wrote raving reviews. To be less-redundant as possible, I am not a romance book reader. "Christian romance?" Sounds kinda oxymoronic. Having been recommended this book from a friend, I was surprisingly enthralled. I couldn't put the book down. The author doesn't go into high-flooty-tooty words, the kinds I usually skim over because I want to get to the real stuff. This was a must read every word!!!
Rating: Summary: 'Redeeming Love' by Francine Rivers Review: 'Redeeming Love' is a powerful adaptation of the Biblical story of the prophet Hosea who takes a prostitute as his wife. It is adult fiction at it's best, touching the heart in a compelling way. I've always loved this story in the Bible because it portrays the magnitude of God's unconditional love for His beloved Bride, the Church. The characterizations of Michael and Angel are true to the Biblical characters of Hosea and Gomer, although the modern setting necessarily incoporates different incidents. It is passionately written and I found my emotions stirred repeatedly as I followed this bitter-sweet story to its end. It is exceptionally well-crafted and I recommend the highest rating for this book.
Rating: Summary: Redeeming Love Review: Beautiful story! This is the first book I've read by Francine Rivers and I cannot wait to read her other books. I read "Redeeming Love" in 15 hours. I couldn't put the book down and shared it with everyone in my family. I have read the story of Hosea and Gomer in the Bible, but this book really shows God's unconditional love in the story of Micheal Hosea and Angel. A must read for anyone that has ever doubted God's love for his children.
