Summary: This is my favorite book!
Review: I have recommended this book to everyone I know. Everyone who reads it cannot put it down. Francine Rivers transports you into a place where the people are real, and the struggles they experience reflect reality, rather than a cushy "Christian-land."

Summary: Emotionally difficult but important read.
Review: If you have never become acquainted with Francine Rivers' books before, then let me say up front that she is the absolute best Christian fiction author being published today - period. She must do an enormous amount of historical research for her books as her details are so explicit. Her trilogy on Rome beginning with the book, A Voice in the Wind, are some of the greatest books I've ever read in my life.

Additionally, for those unfamiliar with her writing style, Ms. Rivers is not afraid to discuss or write about subjects that are complicated and messy. This book is a testament to that. She journies into the life of a prostitute more than some may care to go - but should. At times, this story of Redeeming Love, a retelling of the life of the prophet Hosea, is difficult to bear. The gritty topic matter is not a light read and at times may make you put the book down for a rest. It is this realism that makes Ms. Rivers' books so powerful. This story explores the unconditional love of an Almighty God and our human instincts to disbelieve or even reject that love. Taking the Biblical story of Hosea and placing it in a more modern setting, the old west, gives the original story a deeper picture and an even clearer message.

For those of you who have already read the book, I urge you to check out the old John Wayne movie, "North to Alaska". I believe that this movie may have been the inspiration for Ms. Rivers' book. The story lines are incredibly similar and even names are identical. Of course, Ms. Rivers' story is far more realistic and deals with weightier issues than this old classic movie, but fans of the book will enjoy watching the film just to marvel at the similarities.

Francine Rivers is one of the few sure bets in Christian fiction these days. I assure you you won't be disappointed with this or any of her other books.

Summary: All I have to say is, "Wow!"
Review: This book is amazing. People say sometimes that a book was so good that they couldn't put it down. I honestly couldn't, and I stayed up all night reading it! I had never read aything by Francine Rivers, but a friend told me about this book, and from her description I knew I had to read it. If you liked this book, read The Atonement Child, it's just as wonderful!!

Summary: FABULOUS!
Review: Redeeming Love is an amazing, powerful love story that is written to pure perfection! This book is based off of the story of Hosea in the bible and follows it quite well. Like all of Rivers books, you will not be able to put this book down, and will want to read it over and over again!
I would recommend this book to anyone as well as Francine's other books. Francine Rivers is an amazing writer and I would recommend her work to anyone!

Review: As one reads this 'love story', one will begin to picture how it parallels with the 'love' God has for mankind; His forgiveness, mercy and grace are unmeasureable; endless.

Summary: Excellent!
Review: I was so able to relate to this book. I have been diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder from repeated physical and sexual abuse so I completely understood the running away and feeling shameful and dirty. Francine Rivers gives hopes to thousands out there that there is a God strong enough to overcome any obstacle that we may face. This book was touching, inspiring, redeeming and hopeful. Although Michael's love is what we would all like, our true love and hope should always be in Christ Jesus.

Summary: A Beautiful Story of Grace
Review: Wow. My Mom had been after me to read this book for the last two years. I didn't want to read it because I cannot stand hokey romance novels. Well, I'm SO GLAD that I decided to pick it up one night, because it literally changed my life.

I would recommend this book to absolutely ANYONE, female or male. Especially to women who have a "past" like I do, and who feel that they don't deserve unconditional love because of their mistakes.

It also teaches you to love everyone, no matter how much of a "jerk" they seem to be, because you realize that everyone wants the same thing...love. Some of us just have too many walls built up around us from being so hurt by others in our past, and therefore we find it hard to allow anyone to get close enough to love us completely.

It also made me find new joy in my femininity. It made me realize, even further, that being a woman does not involve trying to be the "same" as a man, in terms of worldly power, and that as a woman, having a strong, caring, loving man in your life to take care of you and your family is one of the biggest blessings you can receive on this earth.

This book is the single best book (besides my worn and precious Bible) I have ever read. (And I've read a LOT of books.) I couldn't put it down.

READ IT, and allow God to bless your life through it.

Summary: Read Redeeming Love
Review: At first, I thought Redeeming Love was going to be hokey, but it ministered to my spirit and turned out to be a gripping read! I haven't found a Christian fiction author whose works I've enjoyed in quite a while. This book now tops my list of favorite books. It is a novel based on the relationship between Hosea and Gomor, but is set in the early to mid 1800s. The story drips with the love of God. This book catapulted me in a positive direction. It completely changed my understanding of love in my own marriage and gave me a new perspective on God's love for me. I cried and cried while reading this book. I'm immediately passing this book along to my friends. This is definitely a book everyone should read! Don't pass this one up!
