Rating: Summary: A life touching story.... Review: I love this book. I believe this book to be Mrs. Rivers best peice. What I love most about this book is the sybolism behind each charecter and the love that Michael has for Sarah. I give this book to all my friends, I haven't had one bad comment yet.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful Story Review: I read about Hosea after reading this book. This is the second book I read by Francine Rivers. Incredible story. It is a reminder that God is always there, just let him in to your life.
Rating: Summary: best book ever! Review: This book is incredible! It's inspiring and makes you immediately go to your Bible to read the story of Hosea.
Rating: Summary: Excellent Review: I loved this book. I had a terrible time putting it down. The characters are so life like. I felt like I was reading my life and the love God has shown to me. I love a book I can get lost in and this was the perfect one. The best book I have read in quite some time. I highly recommend this book.
Rating: Summary: God Is In Every Breath You Take Review: This book was the most amazing and moving experience I have ever had. I finished reading it last night while I wept in bed. I never knew what God's love really was before this book. I fell in love the characters!! I felt like I was living on the farm with Michael, Angel, and the Altmans, and it broke my heart each time Angel left. Francine Rivers writes in the end of this book that it was God's will that she write this book and I know with all of my heart that God used her as a tool to reach all of His children. I, with all of my heart and soul, pray that EVERYONE reads and absorbs every loving ounce of this book.
Rating: Summary: Incredible! Review: I have always loved to read, but this book was beyond words! It reminded me that God loves each and every one of us, the good and the bad. If He can work on one, surely there are others He can touch also. All of Francine's books make me examine my own attitude (which can be holier than thou), and my acceptance of myself and others. Thank you Francine for blessing us with your gift!
Rating: Summary: A Beautiful Picture of Christ and His Bride Review: It based on the story of Hosea, in the Bible. Michael Hosea (like Hosea in the Bible) is told to marry a prostitute, named Angel. He works on her heart, loving her, and helping her work through her wretched past. It is not a book for the faint-hearted. Francine Rivers is not afraid to hit you with the realities of this world full force. But that in part is what makes it so good. Because if our sin, the evil of this world, is watered down, then the Good, the Salvation is worthless. There is great depth to this story. While it is all about Michael and Angel and their relationship and their relationships with God, it is also a story about God and how He sanctifies His Beloved Bride, the Church. Francine Rivers does such a good job of taking hold of your heart. You will cry. You will yell at the characters. Once, I even threw my book down because it made me so angry. But then I pick it up and chapters later I laugh and cry with joy. It is a book that really touches you. However, I would not suggest this book for younger people. Parents should read it first and then decide. It could be a little too much for some younger people.
Rating: Summary: Another brilliant book by this gifted author Review: This is a story with a wide range of emotions. From the utter depravity of man to the absolute and unconditional love of God. It follows the story of Michael Hosea and his total surrender to the will of God, regardless of the emotional torture and heartache that sometimes comes with it. It is also the story of Angel, her emotional and physical scars that are borne of a tragic childhood and her journey to complete healing and spiritual awakening. Based on the Old Testament book of Hosea, it portrays God's wonderful love and patience with his wayward children, by focusing on the example of Michael Hosea's unconditional love for Angel. An inspirational and thought provoking piece of fiction which could be compared to a parable - an earthly story with a heavenly meaning. The book encouraged me to read the book of Hosea, not a book I would probably have read before reading this novel!! Highly recommended.
Rating: Summary: Exceptionally good, attention holder Review: Great awesome book, so much I could learn and take from it, read it in two sittings, preferably one would have been better. If you ever want to know what life is like for a victim of abuse, rape, etc. then you have a good glimpse here, I know from experience and could relate to Angel in more ways than I would have liked to but also have been radically changed by His Divine Romance for me...the same He has for each one of us...He pursues us to no avail...
Rating: Summary: AWESOME BOOK!!! Review: This book is probably the best I have ever read. It won't let you go and the message will stick to you!! I read this rather long book in a few weeks although the last half only took me two days. It was very sad and do not read it if you hate stories of mistreated children. This book is incredible and I think every girl needs to read it!!
