Summary: An elderly Nazi seeks revenge.
Review: "The Last Nazi" features Melissa Gale, a beautiful and brainy lawyer and Nazi hunter. Gale is desperately trying to track down a villain named Adalwolf, who assisted the infamous Dr. Mengele in Auschwitz. Adalwolf is now a seventy-five year old man, but he has not slowed down either physically or mentally. The unrepentant Nazi is an expert in biology, genetics, and virology, and he hopes to use his formidable knowledge to create a virus that will destroy his enemies.

The first half of "The Last Nazi" is intriguing, suspenseful, and full of surprises. Together with a SWAT team, Melissa closes in on a rooming house in Atlantic City, New Jersey, where Adalwolf supposedly lives. Will Melissa's desperate effort to capture Adalwolf finally succeed? Or has her cunning adversary once again outsmarted her?

The beginning of the novel has thrills, chills, and many surprises. Unfortunately, the second half of the book goes downhill, as the author substitutes formulaic melodrama for genuine suspense. Stan Pottinger's many twists, turns, and complications dilute his story's effectiveness. If the author had expended more effort on humanizing his characters and on making his plot a bit more realistic, "The Last Nazi" would have had far greater impact.

Summary: Best Thriller I've ever Read!
Review: I could not put this book down! I took it on a long flight and read the whole thing straight through. Enjoyed the characters, the twists and turns, the suspense, the thrills...everything! This is my first book by Stan Pottinger, and I will definitely be reading his others.

Summary: Not so great.
Review: I have an aversion to writing reviews on books that I can't give a five star rating, but here goes....This book was okay, not great, but not a total waste of time either.
I have read another book by Mr. Pottinger that I thought was really good, so when I saw this one, I was hoping for a book I couldn't put down. Didn't happen. The plot was really interesting, a little different, but I never connected with the characters. I never really cared what happened to anyone, and I just kept reading to see how the plot would be resolved. However, I will read Mr. Pottinger's next book because I know from past experience he has the ability to write one that "can't be put down".Sorry Mr. Pottinger for this review, but I look forward to your next one anyway!

Summary: Best of Pottinger
Review: I have read all three of Pottinger's books. This is by far his best. It is a real page turner with a plot that is terrifying and full of surprises. The book flows quite evenly throughout, and the story is unbelievably creative and captivating. Unlike his first two books, his characters and the plot here are completely believable making this as scary as it is entertaining.

It is neat to see how a writer matures, and Pottinger has already reached the qualities of a continuous best seller. It took Grisham and Crichton a while, remember?

Summary: Stan's Best Book Yet
Review: I have read all three of Stan's books. All were good, but this is by far the best. It is a real page turner with a plot that is terrifying and full of surprises. The book flows quite evenly throughout, and the story is unbelievably creative and captivating.

It is neat to see how a writer matures, and Stan has already reached the qualities of a continuous best seller. It took Grisham and Crichton a while; remember? I'm looking forward to reading Stan's book out next year apparently, about retribution by some guys up against a some high-flying rip-off executives. ("How sweet it is!" - post-Enron)

I know this much about the book because the author now has a web site. It is worth going to because who would have guessed that Stan used to work in the U.S. Department of Justice as a U.S. Assistant Attorney General? What is it about lawyers-turned-authors that makes them good fiction writers?.

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: Innacurate
Review: I started reading the first chapter to the book and couldn't get beyond the first few pages. I love suspense thrillers, but can't stand it when an author "makes up" tacticts as this author obviously did with the SWAT team entrance.

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: Slow and Boring
Review: I tried to read this book all the way thru, but could hardly make it past page 100. The characters were boring and the plot was really slow after the initial setup. The title and first chapter caught my interest but there was little else about this book that did. I eventually skipped to the end and was let down even moreso with the 'final revelation'...which was predictable and a letdown.

Summary: Phenomenal
Review: Just started a new job with an hour commute distance. There were times, listening to this book, that I just wanted to keep driving, so I could find out what happened. It's the audio equivalent of a page turner. Pottinger keeps you guessing till the very end. There were even times when I said the same words the characters were saying because I was so into the story. The version I listened to was read by Jonathan Marosz and was unabridged. Marosz is a fantastic reader and I find myself listening to new authors just because the books are being read by him. If you like a twisting, turning, roller coaster intrigue that takes your guts with the story from start to finish, then The Last Nazi is for you.
