Summary: Entertaining read
Review: I have read all of Dickey's books, and they have all been great reads, however, I had a hard time with this book. It moved kinda slow in the beginning, and there was too much drama at the end. Also, I guess I was secretly hoping that Jordan would leave everyone, and start a new life in California. Kimberly had too many secrets for me. Nevertheless, good read, and ill look forward to the next.

Summary: A Standing Ovation for Dickey
Review: I really enjoyed this book and the characters are very realistic. So realistic in fact I often wondered is this a work of fiction or has he tapped into what is really going on in some of our lives. Great dialogue among the characters. Dickey wove a good plot dealing with trust and betrayal and secrets and lies in relationships.

Summary: Witty but disturbing
Review: Eric Jerome Dickey's style is unsurpassed. I applaud him for taking on a subject that is still taboo and very seldomly publicly aknowledged, especially amongst African American women (interracial dating). However, even though I enjoyed his style and depth of characterization, I could not help but feel demonized by the African American female characters especially J'Nette, her sister and friends and Wanda. There were few redeeming qualities amongst the group. This disturbed me. Once again I felt the characteristics of these Black women justified, Black, Jordan Green's relationship with White, Kimberly Chavers rather than it being about these two people getting through their own personal tragedies, including the hows and whys of how they and others will view their relationship. However, Mr. Dickey is very witty and his depth truly pulls you in. I say this is a must read that will spark some discussion. I urge each individual to read it and make assessments for themselves.

Summary: Dickey : The Male Terry McMillian
Review: This novel was no different from the previous. GREAT. I didn't even read the book cover when I purchased the book, because I knew it was going to be a winner. Dickey's writing improves with each book. I applaud Dickey for addressing the issue of interracial relationships, a topic which is almost always "thrown" in the background. The interracial issues, "drama", personal issues of each character, along with its surprising events made this book extremly hard to put down. My only problem was the book ended abuptly and I was left a little disturbed. I think he should have expound upon the ending to give the reader a smoother landing. All in all, I truly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading about real issues by a superb writer. BRING ON THE NEXT ONE !!!!

Review: This is an excellent story. Once again, Eric captures our attention, then tricks us with his "trademark" twists that leave you with your mouth open. Excellent job - Eric. Loved it.

Summary: STRAIGHT AS AN ARROW
Review: "Milk in My Coffee" was a good read, but not executed well as a great novel. I think Dickey's writing style took a step backwards as far as "Friends and Lovers" goes. I did enjoy "Milk in my Coffee" however, and I would buy anything Dickey brings out. I will stay a faithful fan forever. Big up to Eric Jerome Dickey :)

Summary: GOOD BUT NOT GREAT
Review: I ENJOYED READING ABOUT A SUBJECT THAT I DIDN'T THINK I WOULD ENJOY READING ABOUT.THERE WERE SOME PARTS OF THE STORY WHERE I THOUGHT THAT THE AUTHOR WAS STRETCHING. (IT GOT TO THE POINT WHERE I THOUGHT SOME THINGS WERE A LITTLE RIDICULOUS.) EXAMPLE, I CAN'T IMAGE TWO PEOPLE MEETING AND BUILDING A RELATIONSHIP FROM AN HALF HOUR CAB RIDE. IT SEEMED A LITTLE FAR FETCHED. THE WAY THAT JORDAN RESPONDED TO J'NETTE'S CONFESSION WAS NOT REALISTIC. I DIDN'T FIND KIMBERELY'S SECRET BELIEVEABLE EITHER. IT SEEM LIKE SOMETHING THAT WAS JUST MADE UP TO GIVE THE BOOK A TWIST. IF THE MESSAGE WAS INTERRACIAL DATING THEN WHY ADD THIS DRAMA? IT CHANGES THE ENTIRE PREMISE OF THE STORY. THE FOCUS OF THE BOOK WAS LOST ABOUT TWO THIRDS THE WAY THROUGH. I COULDN'T CONNECT JORDAN'S FAMILY SITUATION AND SOLOMON'S DRASTIC CHANGE TO THE POINTS THAT THE AUTHOR WAS TRYING TO MAKE ON INTERRACIAL RELATIONSHIPS. MANY REVIEWS SAY THAT THIS IS DICKEY'S BEST WORK YET, IT WAS RATHER MEDIOCRE IN MY OPINION.

Summary: The Hits Just Keep On Coming...!!
Review: Oh, to be this man for just...five minutes. Five SECONDS even!!! I don't know how Eric does it (yeah I do...he's an alien, and I don't mean from across the border...lift your eyes upward, if you will), but his writing is so incredibly phenomenal, that it has me (and I'm sure a lot of other authors and aspiring writers out there) drooling with envy and bowing with the highest regard and esteem. I received an advance copy of "Milk" from the man himself (I'm blessed to be fortunate enough to call him my friend and "twin"), and, though I had a crazy summer, I finally sat my patootie down and got to reading. (Mind you, my mother had gotten a hold of it first, so it was loose leaf when she finished. I don't know what THAT was about. I guess she loved the story so much, she started pulling out pages trying to eat the damn thing). Well, to my non-surprise, the story is superb. (And I'm not just being gratuitous when I say this either. If it wasn't all that, I wouldn't say anything at all. My mama, the now-infamous bookeater, always said, if you can't say something nice...) Anyway, in this book, Eric the Wunder-Alien manages to capture the essence of all the characters and their idiosyncrasies, and fully flesh them out so that they are so three-dimensional, you want to, like, touch their hair or something. Then he pulls you in and keeps you tightly, happily, grippingly fixed along the way!! And he had the nerve to take on an issue that was BOUND to be controversial, and do it with mad finesse!!! KUDOS, twin!!! Can I just, like, touch your hand, stand in your backdraft, or something? Anything to get just a smidge of that Midas touch...

Summary: Dickey Does it Again
Review: Almost didn't finish reading Milk in My Coffee. The first chapter was hard to swallow, I kept saying never in a million years, in New York City, no way. I'm Glad I stuck with it. The best one so far. I will definitely be waiting for the next one. Keep up the good work.

Summary: I LOVED THIS BOOK
Review: Eric has a wonderful way with people and words. This story expressed views that I myself have had and I am sure others have felt the same way. He depicts the love and hate between the characters so well that you can see and even feel their emotions. At first I was skeptical about the book and its title and thought it was going to disparage the brother for being interested in a white woman. But it was about so much more than just her color. This book made me look past her color and to see the two of them simply as people. This book made me realize that interracial dating is not always about hate of aspects of their own race but can also be about love of yourself and of someone of another race. This is love simply because of who they are. Keep up the good work and keep cranking out the books. Any book that can make a statement and keep you interested at the same time is worthy of praise.
