Rating: Summary: Haven't Made Up My Mind Yet Review: Story was interestering. I love the way Mr. Dicke writes, he has a flair for description down to a tee. I especially enjoyed the scenes when Jordan was in the south, as a person from the south, I really related to a few scenes. I'm a little mixed on the Soloman character; I feel as though he changed right before my eyes. I don't know how I feel about the relationship between Kimberly and Jordan -- part of me was happy that they found love, yet another part of me found it to be totally unrealistic. I still luv my Eric and will allways continue to support him in his endeavors.
Rating: Summary: Page-turner Review: I have read everything EJD has written and this book was by far the best. For all of us who have hang ups about interacial relationships, this will make you think twice. It also makes you rethink the way we look at race in this country. EJD suprised me and made me sit up an take notice with his well placed surprises in this book. I applaud his effort and he know has a reader for life of all his books.
Rating: Summary: Mind provoking, brilliantly written (i.e., IT'S ALL THAT!) Review: I really loved this book, I just could not put it down. I was not sure what was going to happen next. In some books you can guess what's going to happen but not with Mr. Dickey's books. Just when you think you know what is going to happen in this book, EJD adds more flavor than you actually expected. Very enjoyable reading, I am looking forward to the next book, I hope Mr. Dickey's next book will be out soon. I am looking forward to more diversity within his African American relationships. Keep up the good work!!!!!
Rating: Summary: This is definitely, by far one of the best books I've read. Review: All I can say is this is truly a page turner. When you read this book be ready to put your life on hold until you've completed the whole book. It's thought provoking and the characters are so real it makes me wonder if it's a true story. Good Job Eric for making a sistah like me see the light.
Rating: Summary: thought provoking eye-opener Review: This book evoked both joy and sorrow. The brother Darrell character's attitude made me feel that I would never want to cause that kind of hurt in someone I loved. I couldn't stand to be the cause of another person's angst and constant questioning, feelings of being a traitor to his culture etc. The main character exhibited the same doubts I experienced ,though he denied it, in my lover. As I read, I felt the magnetism to love a woman of his own culture, and wondered if this is the norm. I know love should no tbe based on physical attraction. bu t we cannot deny it is there. This story , though fiction, held too many truths and made me Squirm. I am sure the things I read in this book were things we did not deal with well. My story did not endas happily as this , unfortunately. Thanks Dick. Sylvia Tribelhorn Phoenix,AZ
Rating: Summary: EJD HAS DONE IT AGAIN!!!! Review: MILK IN MY COFFEE is very appropriately titled and I enjoyed reading it, although I did have some initial reservations about the storyline. Because I am a life-long fan and friend of Eric's, I rushed to purchase and read this, his best yet. Hats off to you Eric for writing a difficult "subject" matter in a way that was entertaining but also thought provoking! We love you so much here in Atlanta, GA. Keep up the good work! We are waiting on the movie release date? :-)
Rating: Summary: Eric, when is your next book due out?????!!!!!?????!!!!???!! Review: I knew you would do it again. This book was simply stirred all kinds of emotions. It was funny, it was sad, it was downright, down to earth. I love reading your books, it comes to your readers with such emotion.I told everyone I know about the book to let them experience what I did. I know your next novel will be just as explosive. Keep doin' what ya doin'!!!!!!!
Rating: Summary: THIS BOOK CAPTURES THE TRUE SOUL OF YOUNG PEOPLE Review: MILK IN MY COFFEE IS EXCELLENT. PEOPLE ARE RAVING ABOUT IT EVERYWHERE. IT IS A MUST READ. I JUST COULDN'T PUT IT DOWN. EJD HAS OUTDONE HIMSELF! WELL I HOPE NOT--CAUSE I JUST CAN'T WAIT UNTIL THE NEXT ONE!! FROM HIS FIRST BOOK TO THIS ONE, HE HAS BEEN KEEPING IT REAL. WE LOVE YOU AND DON'T EVER STOP.
Rating: Summary: superb! Review: with a tissue in one hand and a champagne glass in the other i toast my new favorite author!i haven't read the other two, but will definitely be checking them out. this guy knows about relationships!
Rating: Summary: Milk In My Coffee is definitely a page-turner. Review: I read all three of EJD's books within 2 weeks and I could not put them down until I finished. The third book is definitely a 5-star job. How in the world does he get inside a woman's head and heart and have her to speak her feelings? He is amazing in that area. I am looking forward to the next book and any movies that spin off from them.
