Rating: Summary: You Go Boy!!! Review: I really enjoyed the book. I've read all of Eric Jerome Dickey books. My favorite is "Friends and Lovers". This book was an eye-opener for me. I saw a lot of stereotypes that hit home. The book was well done and I could actually feel what Jordan was going through with his best friend Solomon and Janette. Keep up the good work Mr. Dickey, You did it again.
Rating: Summary: Omigosh...this book was really good Review: I have nothing against interracial relationships but I wasn't up on reading one either. Well the saying is true to it's name "You can't judge a book by it's cover," because this was a real page turner. I picked it up expecting a light read and what I was hit with was some hardcore reality. EJD not only came with a tough subject, but he also mastered it. This book can change many people's opinion on out-of-race relationships. Keep it up!
Rating: Summary: Great Book, Great Title Review: I saw ERD on BET Tonight with Tavis Smiley. The topic was interracial relationships. He also put a plug in for his book. A friend of mine recently asked me to join a book club and to take up reading instead of watching so much TV. So I took her up on her offer. EJD book was excellent! I think EJD book has it all. 1.Suspense 2.Romance 3.Realism I am new to this "novel" thing, but you have a believer in me bro. I mean when you were writing as Kimberly I imagined a white woman talking. I am definitely recommending your book to our book club. SmooVe is definitely in the house. Stop take a step back what do you see......... Eric Jerome Dickey with a bombin' book Milk in My Coffee.
Rating: Summary: Outstanding! Extraordinary! I couldn't put it down!! Review: I found myself drawn to the characters of the books. Jordan tried to fight the feelings that he had for Kimberly because of what others might say. This is the situation with not only interracial couples, but with May-December romances. I feel that if a person makes you happy, then go for it. Happiness comes in all shapes, sizes, colors, and national origins. Interracial dating is not for the weak - only the strong because you will probably experience some negative thinking from others even your own family members.
Rating: Summary: Mr. Dickey is one tough brother with the pen and paper! Review: I have so enjoyed Mr.Dickey since he has been writing. I have enjoyed all 3 of his books. Milk in my coffee made me take a deep look within myself and my prejiduces. I am a sister who despises interracial relationships, so when the big bang came out the end of this book, it made me say...hmmmmm. Check it out for yourself
Rating: Summary: A quick reading fun novel that takes a look at relationships Review: I enjoyed this novel because the story content was modern and light. I like the author's style of writing and cannot wait for his next novel! This book shows me that some men do have insight into how women think!? How'd he do that?
Rating: Summary: Another Great Novel By Eric Jerome Dickey Review: Milk in My Coffee is a MUST read and a Must have book for your collection of great novels. I enjoyed the book from start to finish. I would recommend this book to anyone, so try it-you WILL like it!! Eric Jerome Dickey is by far one of the best authors there is. I would also highly recommend Eric's first two novels Sister, Sister and Friends and Lovers.
Rating: Summary: An interesting perspective on interracial dating Review: I was somewhat surprised at this book. The way that Mr. Dickey approached interracial dating and the effects that it has on both people and the reactions that they receive from friends, family and strangers was amazing. I will be honest enough to say that my mind frame was that of pokey's (Jordan) beginning of the book when he met Kimberly. I wasn't explicilty told not to date interracially but it was taboo and therefore, I avoided it. Well, my eyes were opened to how much more love, honesty, and trust is needed to sustain such a relationship after I read this book. Now when I see an interracial couple, I envy the strength that their relationship must have!! We should all be so lucky. Thank you Mr. Dickey for giving me a new perspective on things!! You go Mr. Dickey!!!! Teach on, Teach on!! :-)
Rating: Summary: A MUST READ!!!!!! Review: Mr. Dickey has definitely outdone himself with Milk In My Coffee. Its a great read that is both entertainting and thought provoking. In addition, the conclusion of the book is completely unpredictable!!!! Way to go, Eric!!!
Rating: Summary: This book was an addiction! Read it in 16 straight hours. Review: MIMC was an awesome read. There were so many twists in this story that I thought the book was a pretzel!! The romance was indeed HOT like a fresh baked pretzel, but hot sex and interracial bumpin' and grindin' are not what brought this book together. It is about two very strong-willed people who refuse to let the outside elements put a chill on a very real love. Mr. Dickey drops the bombs in the most unsuspecting places, and the reader is sure to be shaking his head in disbelief over and over. This book was totally unpredictable, and thoroughly delicious. The saying, "You can't judge a book by its cover" does not apply to this book because it was the seductively moody blue color that drew me to it on the shelves. the characters jump off the pages and come to life--right into yours!! Unless you are made of stone you will be quickly drawn into the lives of Kimberly and Jordan. You become their guardian angel--rooting for them, sleeping with them, eating with them. you even get to take a first-class trip to California with them! While this book is fueled by the complex dynamics of race, it goes way beyond that to examine the dynamics of the human soul.
