Summary: AN HONEST REVIEW OF THE CHOICES MEN HAVE IN MATES.
Review: I ENJOYED THIS NOVEL AS MUCH AS I DID GINGERSNAPS BY DELORYS WELCH-TYSON. BOTH BOOKS EXPRESS THE FACT THAT ITS HOW YOU FEEL ABOUT A PERSON NOT THAT THEY LOOK LIKE YOU THAT COUNTS.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Great book!
Review: Don't be put off by the summary on the book jacket regarding an interracial relationship. This is a great novel with some awesome twists in its plot.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: So delicious and true you gotta stop and listen to da man!!!
Review: MIMC is as real as it gets, and you can take that from a redheaded white woman dating a brotha, and we lived in Memphis together (born and raised) for 4 years! He writes with a passion that is deliberate and incredible, and he goes where too many are scared to go. I'm impressed!!! I picked it up and finished in 5 hours, and I was sucked into the novel in 5 seconds flat. Although the book wasn't always a black-white issue, I gotta say he punched about a million buttons with me. Luckily, most interracial relationships don't have the head trips Jordan gave himself (and he came through!), so props to the strong ones. Keep em coming, EJD!!

Summary: Honestly insightful, empowering brothas as well as sisters
Review: Dickey has done something genuine with this book. It has more than lived up to it's reputation and countless reviews. That book was da bomb. It had me calling people up at work, starting a book club [with this book being the top priority], kicking, screaming, crying, and staying up half the night. Making me laugh on the train, and having people asking me what the book was all about. Brothas as well as sistas could appreciate every aspect of this book. It was insightful and inspirational. He is very talented, and I'm glad that there are brothers like Dickey and Omar Tyree paving the way for future writers. Showing that a Renaissance has truly come to be. So move Terry McMillan, because it's time to share the limelight.

Summary: Refreshing, Witty and Real
Review: I thoroughly enjoyed this book, I thought the dialogue was witty, refreshing and real. Interracial relationships are still considered taboo and this book addressed these issues as well as the misconceptions that blacks and whites have about each other. It also examined the dynamics of male/female relationships not just from a color perspective but from a gender perspective. I related to all the characters on different levels, mostly because I felt that each character was a representation of someone I knew. I especially liked the different twist that the stroy took towards the end, it was unexpected and emotional at times. Overall this book was a joy to real.

Summary: Not at all what you would think from the title.
Review: When I read the title of the book I was mad, I thought to myself "Oh Yeah! I have got to read this mess." I wanted to see what my brothers had to say about interacial relationships. It was not what I expected - it was deep! I absolutely loved it. Just when you thought things were okay, Dickey changes eveything. It was a little slow at first, but it exploded towards the end.

Summary: "Very moving and believable"
Review: This book is so captivating that I did not want to put it down. It wraps you up into the characters and you really feel each of their very different perspectives.

Very good reading!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Don't miss this one!
Review: This is the best one of all three of his books (but the others are to die for!). A total page turner and unpredictable love story. How does Eric know women so well and when is the next one coming out?

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: The Best is Yet to Come!
Review: I have enjoyed the work of EJD ever since I read "Sister, Sister" which I consider to be his best work thus far . . . having read all his others. Call me biased but I enjoy books that make me laugh out loud. MIMC provided very few laughs particularly near the end of the book. I find the interracial love story between black men/white women--very old and very tired--although I did enjoy reading it from a man's p-o-v. How about the flip side from a man's perspective?

I liked what I believed to be the "strong" friendship between Jordan and Solomon. The twists presented near the end shocked and surprised me. Although I can't rate MIMC with more than three stars I still recommend this book for a fast read. I look forward to reading the trials and tribulations of EJD's future characters!

Summary: Should definetly be a NY Times Bestseller
Review: I thought this was his best book. I've read all three of his books and I've seen how his writing style has definely improved. Not down rating any of the others, but this one was the best. Before I started reading EJD, I hated reading and had never finished a whole novel. I've read all three and I'm about to start reading them all again. I'm waiting for his next book! Truly, I think EJD is better than Terry McMillan. He kept me very interested in the book and I never wanted to put it down. I was hesitating to finish Milk in My Coffee because now I have nothing to read. EJD I NEED ANOTHER BOOK!!!!! (lol)
