Rating: Summary: It was great and enjoyable book. Review: The book was enjoyably relaxing. The characters were someone that you could identify with - both good and bad thoughts. The story plot was engaging and immediately got and kept my interest. I had thought that the book was going to be a detached sociologically dissertation on interacial dating, but it was a good and well-developed story that kept my interest throughout the book. The plot twist toward the end of the book perked my interest even more to see what would happen next. I enjoyed the book. It took out of the reality of a very hectic schedule, for a few days of fantasy and enjoyment. That is one of the joys of reading a good book. I have recommended it to many of my friends.
Rating: Summary: Milk in My Coffee promises to be another winner! Review: Eric, I really enjoyed your book Friends and Lovers, I even got my significant other (alright, boyfriend! ~S~) to read it! I think I read Sister, Sister, but I am not really sure; I plan to visit my local library soon and find out. Today I started reading your new book MILK IN MY COFFEE, and already on page 8 it promises to be all that! Keep on pumping out these good books. As an African-American woman, I am trying to read books written by my fellow African Americans, and if you guys (E.Lynn Harris, Lolita Files, Terry McMillan et al.) keep writing good books, I promise I will continue to keep supporting you by reading them! SMOOCHES! Christine Doyle one of your loyal readers
Rating: Summary: Delightful reading - you'll love Kimberly and Jordan. Review: As a African American woman in America, I loved the way the interracial dating theme was introduced. The surprise at the ending was even more pleasant! I won't give it away. I eagerly await Eric Jerome Dickey's next novel!
Rating: Summary: An interacial romance for the ninties!!! Review: This book was great. I loved the romance, betrayal and frankness of this book. This book shows that you can have milk in your coffee and a little sugar too.
Rating: Summary: Milk in My Coffee is a must-read Review: It was refreshing to read a book that ahd the courage to tackle the subject matter of interracial dating. More often than not, films and novels dealing with this topic insult our intelligence because they choose to focus only on the sexual part of the relationship and not the spiritual side. Jordan and Kimberly's attraction to each other was clearly more than physical. I loved this book because it deals with interracial dating in a mature, humorous, and honest manner. It will make you rethink about your stereotypes.
Rating: Summary: An outstanding, funny book that will make you think. Review: This book immediately grabs your attention. It also has caused me to reevaluate the way I look at interacial couples. I loved it!
Rating: Summary: I love chocolate. Glad you went there EJ! Review: Yes the twists and turns were good, but I really enjoyed the way you used the book to open minds. (Maybe I'll get thrown less evil looks?) I hope it has worked on all who have read it. I probably appreciate that angle because of my forte of non-fiction/self-help. It doesn't matter, fiction or non, they can be incredible learning devices. I also can't help noticing how real to life the events of the book were...it not as fictional as some would think....you have a terrific ability to take your reader to another level of reality? Have told several people about it. They have asked to borrow mine but, as a struggling writer, I told them to go out and buy their own.....I look forward to the next!
Rating: Summary: Wonderfully, spectacular. Review: I would like to thank Eric Jerome Dickey for writing such a fabulous book. I was up all night reading this magnificent piece. I could not put it down. Milk in my Coffee is such an emotional book. I laughed out loud and wanted to cry while reading it. I can definitely relate to Kimberly. Growing up in the South and being the target of everyone's comments on how like white, or colored I am was no thrill, and moving to California and it still continuing did not make matters any better. I would again like to thank Eric Jerome Dickey for creating such a great story. Continued success.
Rating: Summary: This book was moving and all about real life. Review: This author is on his way. Off his three books this one is the best. It is an attention getter and takes some turns that will blow your mind.
Rating: Summary: Insightful, real life, eye-opener Review: Congratulations to EJD on a well-written novel. He deals with some real issues that make you think about how you treat "people" who are in an interracial relationship. This book was funny, sensitive, and had a really good flow. You really get to know the characters and their feelings. You go, EJD! May God continue to bless you.
