Summary: Honest, gritty, entertaining and truthful!
Review: Once again, I was totally blown away by a Eric Jerome Dickey book. The relationship between Jordan and Kimberly not only captures the trials and tribulations of the male/female relationship, but it also showed the racial differences without making them the entire focus of the story. Mr. Dickey allowed you to fall in love with both Kimberly and Jordan because of who they were as individuals as well as who they were as a couple. The love between them was the real issue rather than the obvious issue of their different races. I applaud him for another job well done! I can't wait for your next creative masterpiece!

Summary: Awesome Story
Review: I loved Mr. Dickey's latest novel. I related too well to all of the characters in the story. Mr. Dickey has a natural talent for making his characters come to life. I am looking forward to reading his next novel. I am a fan of his work, and I am telling friends to jump on the band wagon. Kudos, Mr. Dickey!!!

Summary: Good but too vulgar
Review: I have read all of Eric Jerome Dickey's books. This one had the most intersting plot, but it was just tooooooooooooooo vulgar. You couldn't go through one page with out reading some kind of profanity that was totally unnecessary. This was a great disappointment. However, the way the book was put together and the situation that developed was excellent.

Summary: An eye-opening caffinated punch dealing with race, econ&love
Review: I just finished one of the best books I've ever read!!!I'm a descendant of Africans, Native Americans, and Anglos. Growing up with hazel eyes and caramel skin. I have endured teasing, and I was never allowed to speak, "ebonics". My sister who's skin tone is "deeper and richer" endured much teasing from her peers, but never in our household. She is now in an interracial marriage and has two beautiful boys. I know she loves her husband but I also think she would not have her children endure the teasing she grew up with. They reside in Augusta, Ga and her 7yr old recently came home and asked, what's a n*****, he also said another child spit on him because his hair is so different. That truly broke my heart. So Eric thanks for getting the word out. Thanks for helping to educate the readers. We're all of the human race,we're all brothers and sisters no matter what color we are...If you cut me, I bleed the same color as anyone, and the pain I would feel is no less. So keep writing Eric, and I will keep reading...I've given 7 copies of your books as gifts.(great way to teach tolerance)Coffee with milk, cream, honey, or sugar can be just as palatable...

Summary: Negative Stereotypes
Review: The story had fun characters and a fair plot but negative stereotypes for both blacks and whites was a detractor. The mean spirited and too tough sistas are a poor characterization of black women. J'nette, Wanda and Solomon were unrealistic in their exagerated personality swings. Kimberly's lies did not mesh with her character either. I did enjoy Jordan's relationships with Kim and his two brothers as well as the humorous dialog throughout. The plot twists did seem contrived and in the end disappointing. The "cultural theft" described shows ignorance and is predjudicial commentary. If anyone thinks hair braiding originated in Africa, I know a few Native American Indians who would disagree. All cultures learn and grow from each other and always have. The narrow-minded ideas expressed in the story were annoying. It is prejudicial to say most blacks dance great or most whites can't keep a beat. It also seems the whole world (except L.A.) was against this inter-racial relationship, a bit much. A college grad who was a teacher and is now a writer should be a better speller or ar least have a better editor! Whats up with that? (New Year'ses pg121) (...buy the way, I'm married pg130) (...looked like a difference version pg208)

Summary: A Good Read
Review: I issued a previous review before I finished the book and now that I have finished it, I have to say that it was quite entertaining. I still don't agree with the downing the sistas in the book, but the story line developed and it caught my attention quite well. So, where is the next book? I'm ready.

Summary: Eric Jerome Dickey is an excellent author!
Review: Eric Jerome is a great author. I enjoyed everyone of his books! Eric Jerome Dickey gets better and better after each book. I'm really looking forward to his next book!

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Not as intriguing as its predecessors, but a must read.
Review: Dickey has done it again!! If you liked any of his other books, then I guarantee you will love this one as well. The story of a black man falling for a white woman is not at all new. However, Dickey has a way of introducing each character that allows much love for all of them!!!! There are no color lines in this book. It's all good. His other novels are a bit more 'juicy' but this one will leave you satisfied as well.

Summary: I threw the book in the trash and do not regret it.
Review: I think of books as friends to keep forever and enjoy having and sharing. For the first time in my life I threw out a book that I spent hard earned money on. It was so very vulgar that I could not even give it away. What an awful disappointment. Zero stars is the most appropriate.

Summary: F-A-N-T-A-S-T-I-C
Review: Eric Jerome Dickey, you have made me a fan. I read the book in one day. I just couldn't put it down. I found it to be entertaining and exciting with a lot of suprises. I too was one of those sistas wondering why our brothers went for MILK IN THEIR COFFEE, but after reading this book I look at interracial relationship in a different light. I will pass this book on to my (male) cousin seeing that he is the off-spring of a interracial marriage. A GOOD READ.
