Summary: I found the book had some terrific and humorous one-liners.
Review: The book had some terrific and humorous one-liners, but Mr. Dickey anti-New York City attitude was very distasteful to me. The middle of the book became exciting and suspenseful, but the book totally fizzled at the end. I will be reading other books by Mr. Dickey in the future. I think the talent is there though.

Summary: Must Read! One of those rare "stays on your mind" finds.
Review: I picked up EJD's "Milk in My Coffee" for a quick summer read...little did I know his work would stay with me for many days after finishing the book. His characters were so REAL and he shows us that the prejudices between the races that most of us try to rise above can still dictate our choices in life. EJD also had me laughing out loud and holding back tears as well. I'm passing it on to all my friends and enjoying my soul searchin' that this book has inspired!

Summary: I Liked It......
Review: This was an amazingly easy book to read. Definetly a page turner. I liked the story line, it was very realistic. I could relate to all the characters in this book. I wasn't too happy w/ the ending but over all its a must read!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: As always.....Outstanding
Review: I truly enjoyed Milk in my Coffee. I was resistant at first when I read the title, but I am a true fan of EJD's writings. If he wrote it, I have to buy it. Though fiction, this book made me rethink my feelings on interracial relationships. Prior to reading this book, I read Michael Baisden's, Men Cry in the Dark (also excellent). Between the two, I have a different perspective on interracial relationships, "Don't judge a book by its cover" & "True love has no color". I have recommended this book as well as his other books to all of my friends.

I always feel as if I can reach out and touch his characters. Once you start reading, you can't put his books down.

EDJ, as always, you have outdone yourself. With each book, I don't think you can get any better, but to my surprise you keep doing it. May God continue to inspire you to utilize the gift that he has given you.

God Bless, Deedee

Summary: Sensitive people, emotional issues. love and life.
Review: Eric Jerome Dickey exhibits a strong senstivitity in the characters he creates. Readers know Jordan, Kimberly, Solomon, Zoe, Elaine and the Twins. It is unexpected that a man would create such reality and realism in the story. Unexpected twists, turns and outcomes keep you reading. This is a very enjoyable book.

Summary: An excellent book filled with love and laughter!
Review: Eric Jerome Dick has taken the very sensitive subject of interracial dating and handled it with tenderness, brutal honesty and a great deal of humor. The two main characters, Jordan Greene and Kimberly Chavers share with us, their feelings on race and relationships, family secrets and all of the drama that goes with it. The story that unfolds is heartwarming and hilarious and so very sweet. I found myself laughing like a crazy person one moment, and in the next moment, asking myself some serious soul-searching questions. This is definitely one of those books that makes you believe in true love. Forget about the societal hangups which attempt to dictate who you should love...love with all of your heart...whomever that person may be. Oh yeah...READ THE BOOK!!!!

Summary: Great read for a summer afternoon in the sun!
Review: I enjoyed this book. It appeared light reading material at the onset --- a little romance story spiced up because the pair in question are different races. I was surprised that as I got into the characters' lives, I was seeing a lot of prejudices that we deal with every day. The book got me thinking about race relations and how we all pass judgement on things in the first few seconds of visually taking in a scene --- and in fact, we know nothing about the situation and are all guilty of stereotyping, whether it be from a white, black or Green viewpoint. I recommend this book to others and hope they will see this hidden message that is sitting just beneath the obvious story that Eric is telling. We could all learn something from this little tale.

Summary: A non stop humorous novel
Review: My bookclub read this book and we all had a lot to say about the characters in this life-like novel. Our bookclub usually has only women but we thought it would be nice to hear what the brothers say about Mr. Dickey's story. We yelled, laughed, reflected and shared our views about all the issues that Mr. Dickey address. Obviously we addressed interracial dating--infidelity--game playing and so forth. We collectively thought the novel was funny. We all thought he hit home with a lot of the issues faced by African Americans today. This is his 3rd novel and it is well worth the read. It will make you laugh cry and shout. Mr. Dickey brillantly intertwines real life issues with these fictional charaters and makes them come alive. In this novel you can definitely see why he has been called the male Terry McMillian. He gives a good story to remember.

Summary: Once Again, Bowled Over!!
Review: I really enjoyed this book. I ended up with my mouth actually hung open as I read it. The relationships depicted were great; we all KNOW these kinds of people. Once again, great job. Can't wait for your next book--you are on a roll.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Great Book!
Review: It was truly refreshing to read a book about relationships and family ties from a male's perspective. The book was intense and unpredictable. This one definitely belongs in the "home library." Can't wait for the fourth book.
