Summary: Johansen Has Written Much Better
Review: A long-time fan of this author, I've read all of the prior novels in this grouping of characters and was intrigued with Sean's story. To be blunt, I was disappointed in this book. Elena had interesting potential that never went anywhere, Barry was sticky-sweet, Sean was completely flat, and the plot jumped to ludicrous and then completely predictable at the end. I do think that some of the supporting characters - Dominic and Luis, namely - were great. For a reader who LOVED the Eve Duncan series, I have to say that I'm sorry I paid full price for this book.

Summary: A Bit Sluttish
Review: Elena Kyler tries to get herself and her five-year-old son out of Colombia safely, and into the US. Again, I still don't understand what John Logan and Sean Galen do for a living. And why does the author always get her female characters to have sex with men they know just about nothing about? Just seems a bit sluttish. (C+)

Summary: Elena is One Tough Woman
Review: Elena Kyler will protect her son and keep him away from the man who raped her at all costs. Rico Chavez will kill anyone who stands in the way of getting his son back from the woman he raped, and more than that, he wants the woman, Elena, dead as well.

Sean Galen (from the past couple IJ books) has sworn to protect her. He's super tough and Elena's tough too, but Rico is closing in, killing everyone that gets in his way.

Five stars for this thriller from Iris Johansen, she gets better with every book she writes.

Summary: exciting romantic thriller
Review: He is Rico Chavez, the head of the Chavez drug cartel, a stone cold killer and a millionaire many times over. She is Elena Kyler, a revolutionary fighter, who has the only thing Chavez wants: their son. In order to protect Barry, Elena makes a deal with the DEA and is transported to the United States with her son by mercenary Sean Galen.

It isn't long before Chavez tracks them to their new location and sends a hit team after her. Galen is able to extract them from the situation before they can be captured and the three of them move into his hideaway. Sean and Elena become intimately involved but before their relationship can deepen, she is forced into a face to face confrontation with Chavez, one she probably will not survive.

NO ONE TO TRUST is an exciting romantic thriller starring two protagonists, who share in common, fighting on both sides of the law and no fear of meting out justice. There are plenty of action scenes for those readers who like high drama thrills and heart-pumping action. The offbeat courtship of Galen and Elena is unusual but fits their personalities as Iris Johansen's latest work is going to please her myriad of fans.

Summary: Too Predictable
Review: I adore writer Johansen, but this time she's off the mark. A macho guy for hire teams up with an equally macho, but beautiful, jungle fighter to rescue her adorable son and an ex-priest from an evil Columbian drug lord. It's all very predictable action, and I found myself skipping over pages at the end just to get through it. Save this for paperback and a long airplane ride.

Summary: OKAY READ
Review: I agree with Laura Dawson's review, been there, done that, why are we doing it again? I kept asking myself haven't you already read this? I couldn't come up with a title, but boy it sure seemed familar. This was an okay book, not great, just okay. I expected better from Iris.

Summary: ~*EdGe Of My SeAt*~
Review: I am a an 8th grader from Framingham, and this is my first novel I have read from Iris Johansen. But I believe it was a fantastic book. I read it in 3 days and couldn't put it down.I felt as if I was living the moment and the supense was painful. I recommend this book to anyone who likes a good mystery and like to think.

Summary: Worth Reding.
Review: I enjoyed this book. Although not her best, it was still worth reading.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Fast-moving, well written thriller!
Review: I finished this off in one day and was ready to start another. Appealing characters, good action, a few plot twists and a taut buildup to the climactic end scene. Nicely done. This was my first Iris Johansen novel, and definitely it won't be my last.
