Summary: Exciting Finish
Review: This book has a great finish - very exciting. The problem is that the set up takes too long and isn't that interesting. Is it really necessary that main character Jack Ryan has to lecture the Prince?

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Excellent. Clancy has done it again.
Review: Clancy has put action, love, and terror all in one. It is the elite of the elite. -Jay Scott 14yrs old

Summary: The best book ever written!!!
Review: I was 12 when I read this book. This was only the fifth novel I had ever read. Now I am 13. I have read eightteen novels, six of them being Tom Clancy's and I still think Patriot Games is one of the best books ever written. If anyone wants a good book this is it.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Action is the name of the game
Review: As far as I am concerned, this is by far the best novel Tom Clancy has written. Jack Ryan is back and better than ever with a fast paced action story that keeps you turning the pages. If you are one of these people that just "sees the movie", you are missing the real action. Harrison Ford is great as Ryan but the (movie) story loses a lot of the real meat of the story and even eliminates song of the strongest characters.

Summary: John Wayne meets Haldeman and Ehrlichman
Review: Clancy's books are always enjoyable but so is getting drunk on Guinness and both leave you feeling faintly nauseated with a mild headache. I always feel that Clancy is trying for that big bureaucratic job which has eluded him to date. His books are more like scenarios than thrillers. He is a company man, and believes in the Pox Americana with a touching naivety. His heroes are suits. Come on, guy, we know these bureaucrats are only interested in striping each other up. Why continue to maintain there is an underlying morality ?

Summary: Thrilling!!
Review: Tom Clancy knows how to deliver suspense, action, and technology wihtout boring you to death! This was the second Clancy book I have read. After the assassination attempt, it was slow, but I kept reading. Boy, am I glad I did. Clancy delivers a bang-up clamax that will leave you breathless!

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: Good as a thriller, but one-sided
Review: Patriot Games is certainly a powerful thriller. The book catches you up and sweeps you along in its flow. However, there are some rocks in that flow. Tom Clancy seems to consistently take only one side of all the issues at hand - and while this is common in thrillers, in this book it reaches extremes that almost sickened me. There is a general refusal to acknowledge that terrorists or rebels ever have a cause or a reason to do what they are doing other than greed. The IRA are portrayed as evil murderers without a shred of conscience, and the protagonist Jack Ryan frequently goes off into philosophical reflections on how horrible and evil terrorists are (e.g., they can't face a "real" army, they always murder innocents, etc.) It could be argued that thrillers cannot funciton without some bias, but I think Tom Clancy takes it too far.

Summary: Excellent
Review: A powerful novel. I loved it. It's so good I just can't put it down, no matter what. It's so realistic from the very first page to the end. It's like a spell to make you read on and on, and before you know it, you're finished

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: This a very exciting and suspensful book
Review: Tom Clancy writes another excellent book. You can hardly put it down. This is an exciting book that I think you will enjoy

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Another Clancy/Harrison Ford thriller.
Review: When you think of Patriot Games, you can't help but think of the movie. Harrison Ford and those white Chevy Suburbans getting shot up seems to be one of the more memorable scenes.

This novel, like Clancy's others, adapts well to the screen. Therefore, if you want to get the core story in 2 hours, see the movie. If you want all the details, read the novel. Fast reading with an undercurrent of techno-thriller.
