Summary: This book is a fantastic piece of writing
Review: I am now in the process of reading this book to my 7-year old daughter, Gina, for the third time. She loves it, I love it, and the only problem is that my husband and baby need attention too! Gina and I can't keep our hands off this book -- it is becoming like an addiction, but my only regret is that it will come to an end too soon. As an aspiring (adult) fiction writer myself, I am inspired and astonished by Dahl's skill at setting up suspense, at his ability to maintain such suspense through such a "simple" children's story. Dahl is an absolute genius storyteller -- I keep this simple children's book beside my desk as a reminder of what I am trying to achieve with my fiction writing for adults. Gina keeps asking me, "Why does each chapter stop just when it is getting so exciting and you can't wait to know what happens?" This is the work of an absolute master, and I'll give it as many stars as the sky will hold.

Summary: Loved this book
Review: Remembering back, I absolutely loved this book as a 7-year old girl. It brings the reader into an enclosed yet exotic world where father-child closeness reigns supreme. A wonderful story from a wonderful author. A must read!

Summary: Dahl's Best
Review: I thought that Roald Dahl's Danny : The Champion of the World was a great book. I liked the way Dahl described the relationship between son and father. This book takes you from a tragic start to a hilarious ending full of action and suspense. However, I reccomend that before you read it, read The BFJ and other of Dahl's classics.

Summary: It was a very nice book.
Review: My son read this book. He enjoyed the story. he liked Danny's adventuresand the relatonship with his dad. The book was funny but i didn't like the fact that they glorified poaching. In the end , the poaching did not work out that well and they went on.

Summary: Not Dahl's best
Review: I really disliked this book. It was too much of a change from Dahl's children's stories. It really didn't appeal to me from the start. I encourage others to read Matilda or The BFG first.

Summary: One of Dahl's Greatest
Review: Other than James and the Giant Peach, Danny, The Champion of the World, may be Dahl's greatest work! I liked the book because it was a great book about the greatness of dads!

Summary: Danny the Champion of the World is a great book!!
Review: Danny the Champion of the World was a great book. I think it made me understand how much my dad means to me. I would recomend this book, because it is a really great story about a boy who saves his dad from a trap in Hazel woods. Find out why he was in Hazel woods, and read this excellent book yourself!!!
