Rating: Summary: The Champion of the World Review: This book is the champion of the world. It was fun, touching, exciting, snd at some points, scary. Recommended
Rating: Summary: Best book I've ever read. Review: Danny, the champion of the world is an awesome book. The book leaves you hanging at the end of chapters. It is full of suspense. It's about a boy whose mother died, and lives with his dad in a old gypsy wagon. His dad is a nice guy. He and Danny do lots of things together. Danny lives a good life until school comes and worst of all he finds out his dads deep dark secret. Then comes Hazels woods. Danny gets an ides that is very good. Then his father and him go on an adventure. Read the book to find out if his dads secret is good or bad? I really enjoyed the book. I've read it 8 times. I think you should read it because it has a little bit of humor a little bit of sadness and a little bit of action. So READ THE BOOK!!!!!!!
Rating: Summary: Vintage Dahl Review: This was the last Roald Dahl book I read (of the ones that were at that time published) as a little kid, simply because it wasn't about witches or giants or magic and thus didn't seem that it would be as exciting. But don't be dissuaded by the subject matter! This book is just as intriguing and exciting as his other books.
Rating: Summary: This book was exciting, adventurous, with a great ending. Review: This book always had me wondering what would happen next and often suprprised me. It made me feel good to read about a father and son who loved each other no matter what....they were not rich but they had each other....and that was always enough for them. I strongly recomend this book for young readers ages 8-11.
Rating: Summary: This book so far is great. I love it!!!!!!! Review: So far I love this book. It's really fantastic!!!!!!!! I'm up to the part when danny and his dad are spreading the rasins. By Anthony D.

Rating: Summary: Truly splendid Review: This is perhaps Dahl's masterpiece, which is saying something. For my money, it is one of the best books of the twentieth century - adults will like it just as much. I prefer this edition, which though the cover is by someone else, contains the original illustrations by Jill Bennett. Her somewhat realistic style lends atmosphere to Dahl's most realistic book; there is no supernatural magic here, only the magic of joy. There is an air of thrilling secrecy about the practice of great artistry in this plot that is compelling.
Rating: Summary: We would all like to live like Danny! Review: Our book group read a book called Danny, the Champion of the World by Roald Dahl. We think the grade levels are 2nd -5th. The genre is adventure fiction. It is scary and funny. The setting of the story is Hazel Wood and a filling station and an old caravan. The main characters are Danny and his dad and Mr. Hazel. This is about Danny and his dad who do creative things. For example they make fire balloons, kites and steal Mr. Hazel's pheasants. We think this book is exciting and cool! We all would like to live like Danny!
Rating: Summary: This is a GREAT Book. Review: This is just a great book. It is a tale of father and son trust and relationship, and best of all, It's written by Roald Dahl.
