Summary: So Bloody Boring
Review: Without a doubt, one of the slowest moving unintelligible books ever written. I simply cannot conceive of why people read this author. I hope the movie was better. The book was so bad that no movie could be worse. After all, at least in the movie you could have some redeemingly handsome faces. But, alas, the book was so bad, I dared not risk watching the movie. Since this book actually became a bestseller, I think I may try my hand at writing. Obviously, people will buy anything.

Summary: THIS is Literature?
Review: For a long time, I have avoided John Grisham. Anyone who churns out books (and sells them to Hollywood) at the rate he does can't be any good, I thought. As time went on, and he continued to sell title after title, I thought perhaps I was wrong. Maybe I was just being a literary snob. Maybe I should pick up this book and give it a try. BOY, WAS I WRONG! Flat, uninvolving, no exploration of emotion, character development, nothing. I gave up a few pages in. How can people read this stuff? It's so colorless, so dull, no descriptions, no analysis, no character self-examination! Yes, yes, Mr. Grisham has good plots (as does another worthless author, Stephen King) but it takes more than that to make a good book! After all, the old Patty Duke show had a great idea, too, but I'd hardly rate it in the history of television top ten! Obviously, our schools have failed the American public when they turn out thousands of people who read this drek and think it is entertaining, worthwhile literature. I hope Mr. Grisham enjoys his trips to the bank. In a hundred years (or less) he and his books will be mercifully forgotten!

Summary: The best Grisham novel yet.
Review: I've read every Grisham book and so far this ranks at the top. The idea of having a law firm as a front for the mafia where once you get in you can't get out - alive, was extremely entertaining. The story was so fast-paced and action packed that it took only a weekend for me to devour it. By all means, get your hands on it.

Review: The story of a young student out of law school who could have any firm in the country but choose lowly Bendini, Lambert, and Locke. The FBI enters the scene and reveals the truth to the young, bright Mitch McDeere.

Summary: hard to put-it-down suspense with a good dash of humour
Review: Although the main protagonist treads many dangerous paths keeping the reader in suspense, the story never gets too flat and there is still a chance to admire the superb secondary characters (like Andy, the motel receptionist) and be taken from Cayman to the hi-tech office in Memphis, to Florida's poor neighborhoods and hit the road often. It is fast paced, but it is does not get too violent or nasty, and is a top entertainement, especially with good humour always at hand.

Summary: It's predictable and similar to The Client
Review: This book, the firm, holds you on suspense... until about the middle of the book, where you realise what will happen. Yes, the code names and the delaying of information does make the book a bit more interesting. But, when I read The Firm, I noticed a very large similarty to The Client. Summary: THE WORST BOOK I'VE FINISHED
Review: This is the most boring,pointless book I've read."It grabs the reader on the first page and propells him through 400 more" is the quote on the cover.I don't know what kind of drugs he was doing, but he was not in his right mind when he said it. More like it holds the reader on the first page and drags him through 500 more. Pointless to waste your time on this book when you can read great works like "The Lawyer's Tale" by Kincade.My point in writting this is to tell you "PLEASE DON"T READ THIS PILE OF DOG DOO!

Summary: Grisham knows how to plot. Too bad he can't write!
Review: How many times have we read the review, "it's the next FIRM." Was this book really that great? Sure, it's entertaining...but where's the depth? Mitch and Abby are recycled characters from any suspense thriller, and the ending is lethargic and disappointing. Have you noticed that every John Grisham novel ends the same way...with some character fleeing or entering the witness protection program. He should just kill them all. Of course he wouldn't. Then, Hollywood may not purchase the rights

Summary: Why Does Everyone Love This Book? Boring!!!
Review: John Grisham sure turned out a stinker in this book, but for some reason people seem to like it. The Firm starts out by giving obvious clues (not just to the reader, but to the young lawyer) that his new employers aren't exactly above-board. How he can be such a brilliant young man and not see the clues is beyond me. He gets suckered in, and as it finally dawns on him that he works for the Mob, they start pushing him to do things he shouldn't, and are completely out of character. Most of the things he did seemed "realistic" enough, but his beach tryst was nothing more than a plot device. This is the one Grisham book that I would not recommend to anyone
