Summary: Haven't I read this somewhere before?
Review: Ah, yes. The same plot existed in "Loves Music, Loves to Dance" (which WAS an excellent novel). The heroine's Mr. Right, the last person you'd suspect, is actually an insane murderer. I had the killer in "You Belong to Me" pegged from the start just on a hunch. The fact that MHC didn't explore his personal life in the story confirmed it. I found this story rather disappointing compared to MHC's previous novels. I thought "Loves Music, Loves to Dance" was quite riveting and suspenseful, which is what I enjoy most about MHC's style, but the most that can be said about "You Belong to Me" in comparison to other MHC books is that it is nothing more than PREDICTABLE.

Summary: Typical Mary Higgins Clark...
Review: I must admit I was disappointed. I've read all of Mary's books, and the last few have been let downs for me. I simply hate it when I figure out the book long before it ends. But, I hate it more when I figure out the author. And, Mary is easy to see through now, I'm sad to say. This book follows along the lines of all of Mary's works. She points towards numerous people as being the villan. However, it's easy to note that she shies away from making one individual as "evil" as the rest. Guess what? There's your guilty butler! However, regardless of the easy mystery, it was a simple read that filled the hours on a plane ride. And, for that, I will recommend it.

Summary: One of Higgins' Worst
Review: In previous books, such as Where Are the Children,The Cradle Will Fall, and Stillwatch MHC has been able to engross me with her suberb character development and always unexpected plot twists. This is not so with You Belong to Me. The characters are extremely one-dimensional; their motivations and personalities are barely explored. In this book, more than any other, the standard of living portrayed and the attitudes of the characters are extremely pretentious. The characters are absolutely out of touch with the type of lifestyle that most people live. There are also many sterotypes prepetuated. I was extremely fustrated with this book and am increasingly displeased with MHC novels. They seem to follow the same plot line and have the same characters in each one, with only the names changed. I wouldn't reccomend this novel, unless you are trying to put yourself to sleep.

Summary: An "edge of your seat" kind of book
Review: A well written mystery starring Dr. Susan Chandler, a psycologist and host of the daily talk radio show, Ask Doctor Susan. The story begins when Dr. Susan invites Dr. Donald Richards, a psychiatrist and author of the book Vanishing Women, a book that tells real life disapperences of women, to be a guest speaker on her show to talk about his book. Susan is most interested in one story that he had not covered in his book, the disapperence of Regina Clausen, who disappeared 3 years before while taking a cruise. Their only clue: a turquoise ring with the inscription "you belong to me," which was found in Regina's room on the ship. Susan discusses this case on the air and asks her listeners to call in if they know anything. If only she knew who her show was being heard by. In the events that follow, Susan ends up being very involved with in the unclosed case with the new discoveries of the missing woman, but doesn't realize until it is to late that she is blindly leading herself and others into danger of Regina's kidnapper who just happens to be still around.....and he isn't about to let anyone come close to solving this case. And those with evidence who try to won't live to tell about it. A fast paced, well written story that will leave you guessing throughout the book. And just when you think you've solved the mystery, think again. With lots of characters, this story will leave you guessing WHODONEIT until the end. A book that you won't be able to put down until you know what the title of the book really means to the story.

Summary: Don't waste your time
Review: I've always liked MHC, but this one seemed like she just combined all of her previous novels and changed the characters' names. It wasn't very interesting. It seemed to me like it was written in about two days without much careful planning. Dr. Susan Chandler is way too smart and yet not smart enough at the same time...

Summary: I Liked this one a lot!
Review: I hadn't read any Mary Higgins Clark books in quite a while - I guess I was caught up. I've been reading other authors but was glad to see this one in paperback a few weeks ago! I picked it up and it didn't take me long at all to finish it! It was terrific. I really liked the main characters, the plot, the action, and the brainpower it takes to get through her books - not too much, but also not mindless. I recommend this to anyone looking for a good mystery.

Review: I am on page 336. Just when I thought I'd solved the puzzle a new player came into play. This is a great read and I am afraid to finish it! Can't wait for the next book.

Summary: One of Mary Higgins Clark's best!
Review: I have read many of Clark's books and this is one of the best. I love how she doesn't reveal "who's done it" until the last page or two. Keep them coming Mary!
