Summary: A new Lavyrle Spencer fan!
Review: After finishing "Vows", I can honestly say that I am now a bonafide Lavyrle Spencer fan. Before this book I wasn't too sure because I'd read 2 great books and 1 OK book, but this sure clinched it! I immensely loved the character of Emily, she was strong & smart and I loved how she analysed things (her feelings for Charles, Tom etc). It's a fairly 'typical' story where the hero & the heroine both hate each other (with a nuclear force in this story) and then eventually fall in love. It does have an interesting twist with the fiance, friendships and a side-story about how Emily's father, Edwin and her mother made a similar mistake of choosing duty over love/passion in their lives. Tom Jeffcoat was just another one of Lavyrle Spencer's perfect leading man. Loved the interactions (verbal sparring) between Tom & Emily. If you liked this book, then I'd recommend that you pick up "The Gamble" (my ultimate favorite) or "The Hummingbird".

Summary: True Spencerian Magic
Review: As a long time fan of Lavyrle Spencer novels, I'd be hard pressed to name a single one as my ultimate favorite. However. _VOWS_ hits very high on the list.

The character development of all the main characters is incredible in depth, and realistic. The chemistry is hot, the progression in heat and magnetism draws the reader's attention and holds onto it without fail from beginning to end.

My ONLY two disappointments: the author thoroughly explored all aspects of Tom and Emily, and Charles as well as the interplay between Fanny and Edwin. I'd have liked to have seen this book become part of a trilogy, or at least a duology. Charles' story is something I had long expected, as it is a story demanding to be told. I still hope that the urge to write and create will draw Spencer back to the drawing board for at least one more story.

Summary: Another wonderful LS read
Review: I admit Lavyrle Spencer is my favorite historical romance author and have read all of them - some more than once. I enjoyed the setting and the relationship dynamics of family and friends. Wonderful read!

Summary: Another hurray for Lavyrle !
Review: I couldnt put it down! I am an avid fan of L.S. and this has to be one of my new favorites. Separate Beds being my all time favorite book. This story only got better the deeper into the book you got. The way the characters respond to their feelings seems less contrived than a lot of the typical romances you will read. The closer you get to the finale, the better it gets! It has a suspense that reams you deeper into the story. A must read for anyone who loves a good story and likes to ride the wave of emotions only Lavyrle can put you on. READ IT !

Summary: Please, pretty please come out of retirement!
Review: I have read, reread, and read this book some more. It is one of my all time favorites! I recommend it to anyone and everyone that asks and even some that don't. It is the most read book in my home. I own almost everything written by LaVyrle. I cried the day she retired! Come on LaVyrle--just one more!

Summary: Not Bad but Not Great Either!
Review: I like Lavyrle Spencer and I listened to the audio book of Vows and it was an interesting story and wasn't terrible but still I was slightly disappointed and I feel that it just wasn't her best. Normally if I listen to an audiobook and I like it I will sometimes go to the used book store buy the paperback book but not this time! I'm glad that others have enjoyed Vows and I do think it was a decent story to listen to once but once was enough and I personally found that the negative aspects of the story outweighed the positives and I can't rate this any more than 3 stars!

Summary: My favorite LaVyrle Spencer book
Review: I love this book so much that I constantly pick it up and read over and over. Ever since I read this book, I've become a LaVyrle Spencer fan. She does such an amazing job of describing the characters and the two main characters are so perfect for each other. I could just imagine the love, devotion, and fascination for each other. Tom...*gasp*...sounds so hot and his pursuit of Emily and her love just did it for me. And Emily is such an independent and caring woman, not like alot of heroines who just grovel after the men. Beautiful book.

Summary: This is the best book I have ever read (4 times)!
Review: LaVyrle Spencer does wonders with this book. She makes you feel like YOU ARE Emily Walcott. Then she makes you feel like every other character. This book makes you happy, it makes you sad, it makes you laugh and it makes you cry. Most of all it makes you love. I give it a 10 ten times!! I would definently recommend this book to anyone.

Summary: Not Lavyrle Spencer's Best Book!
Review: Lavyrle Spencer is one of my favorite writers and I have loved the books of her's that I have read but for some reason I didn't Like the book Vows as much as I liked her other books, I liked Tom and Emily but I just didn't care too much for the other characters especially Emily's friend Tarsie, she was so snotty!

Sorry but it's not a Lavyrle Spencer book that I could recommend to anyone!
