Rating: Summary: REAL Review: The book was very real and the actions of the charaters happen in real life even though it was fiction The way she handles her husband after she finds out about his other life her husband selfish ways and not understanding the demands of her job. And her trying to get even with her husband this book had very strong charaters which you cant forget. This book left me messed up in a way because of the realness I had a long talk with my husband after this . This book is a most read and you should talk about it after your finished.
Rating: Summary: THE PERILS OF INFIDELITY Review: In a plot surrounding another nameless character (reminiscent of his THIEVES' PARADISE), Eric Jerome Dickey (EJD) reminds us that marriage can be beautiful IF the participants are loving, considerate, and FAITHFUL--with an emphasis on the latter. Written throughout from a female perspective, this novel exhibits EJD's uncanny knack for believably depicting the feelings, frustrations, and sensuality of his sister friends. As usual, the dialogue is crisp, up-to-date, and so credible that you are THERE as the words are spoken--nodding to their cadence and 'signifying' with each uttered truth. Despite EJD's irritating refusal to name the main character, he has created a story so compelling that even that flaw can be overlooked. Also, his debut venture into describing heterosexual erotica is surpassed only by Beverly Jenkins--the queen of tastefully creating ... images capable of arousing saint and sinner alike. Its wit, humor, poignancy, realism, and suspense make THE OTHER WOMAN EJD's best novel yet.

Rating: Summary: It will hold your interest but.... Review: This book was good enough to hold my interest; I read it in about 12 hours. The ending was not predicatable, although if you are really paying attention you will see that one of the characters is clearly unstable so the ending should not be a surprise. Also, the extensive sexual situations were not necessary because most of the time they were not relevant to the story line. After the first couple of chapters, you could tell they were being used a filler. However, if you want easy reading and need to kill some time, read this one.
Rating: Summary: It's About Darn Time! Welcome Back, EJD!! Review: I have to say that I am SO pleased to FINALLY have the old EJD back. I have been so completely disappointed by every book written by EJD since Friends & Lovers. I finally gave up on him... until a friend convinced me to read The Other Woman. This story was excellent. As a Los Angeleno, I always appreciate the realistic portrayals of our cities, freeways, etc. The realism also extends to the raw emotions experienced by each character as the drama unfolds and unfolds and unfolds almost until the very end. The only reason I did not give this book 5 stars is because I thought the ending was excessive and unnecessary. This book could stand alone without the explosive ending (an ending that is all too familiar to anyone who read the equally-excessive ending used in M. Baisden's last offering -- but who's drawing comparisons? At least I didn't trip over typos in this book! *wink*). Overall, excellent job. My favorite author has finally come back to me! *smiles*
Rating: Summary: None can do it like you! Review: Your novels are so vivid and descriptive. I like how you end each story leaving the reader wondering. I have read, "The Other Woman," "Mike In My Coffee," "Liar's Game," and currently I am reading "Thieves' Paradise." I must say I love them all, but "The Other Woman," so far, is my favorite. You are a great writer who analyses men and women so perfectly. Keep doing what you are doing, which is writing brilliant stories that crosses all boundaries.
Rating: Summary: New to EJD Review: This is the first book of EJD that I have read. I really got into it and wanted to know what would happen to all the people. He is a good writer and now I want to read his other books. Perhaps because I am from the "older" generation, I was bothered by the ending which some others have spoken about. Or perhaps it is because I am not a violent person. I thought that Freckles was a great charactor as was Jessie. ( I would enjoy meeting them) The men were not that great! (Perhaps they were really portrayed well, but I would not want to know either one of them!) So even though I am older, white, live in the suburbs, I feel that a lot of this book spoke to me except for the ending. I loved reading all the other reviews and their viewpoints.
Rating: Summary: eric jerome dickey the other woman Review: i thought this book was going to be a bad read but i went to the book store and i was told that the book was not doing very well, so i was scared to read it because i thought it was not a good book , and was going to be like the other books i have read by this author but this book was gooooooooood i mean i love this book and i hope the next one is better.
Rating: Summary: Unforgettable!!! Review: I have read each of his books and somehow he managed to outdo the last project. This book literally took my breath away. The ending will leave you speechless. Written from the perspective of the female voice, he has tapped into the female psyche in all of its complexities, love and hatred. I love the story because it was real to me. Not that I would find myself making the choice of the nameless lead character, but I understood very clearly why she came to these choices. And for her, it was clearly the only way to make peace in the midst of her chaos. It seems things are never as they seem. I can't say a whole lot without giving away any of the specifics. Suffice it to say that this book is a definite MUST read. You go Eric!!!!
Rating: Summary: A Title Twister Review: Wow! Eric you are something else. How do you come up with these ideas? I wander why Eric let the woman make love to the husband. I was stunned.! I couldn't get the book out of my mind for weeks. I wander in the end if she might have been pregnant, since there was no protection used. Wow! As I was reading the book, I was listening to Heather Headley CD and it's a PERFECT FIT. If the book make the movie scene; make sure Heather is there to bring it to life. It was amazing how her nickname matched her husband's real name, and her talent and hair matched the other husband. The title never made you guess, that the nameless wife would be THE OTHER WOMAN.
