Rating: Summary: Realistic Novel with incredable twists throughout Review: Samantha was a social outcast in school. A nightmare, or atleast that is what her older sister would say. She was unpopular and was considered one of the "weirdos" at her private school in Washington D.C. Her older sister, the popular girl, dislikes her tastes, but loves her reguardless and chooses her over her boyfriend. Her younger sister is smart and thinks that she knows everything. Her life is terrible, no one cares about her,and feels alone because she is the middle child. Little did she know that her entire life would change when she skipped art class, saved the president from an attempeted murder, becomes a national hero, and becomes the US representative for the UN. She loves her sister's boyfriend and is determined to have him fall in love with her, until she looks deep inside and realizes that she never did love him, all with the help of her art teacher. She gets a C- in German and is caught drawing pictures of celebrities posing with her classmates and is forced to put her artistic talent elsewhere. At art class, she meets David (the Pres.'s son) and realizes how much they really have in common (he is really not that nerdy as he seems to be). Eventually she and David fall in love, but only after a disagreement between the two that costs them their friendship and must prove that they really are friends (and much more). The characters are realistic and you feel like you know them. Meg does a wonderful job of putting you into the story and making you feel as if you were there and could only tell Sam that everything will work out. It is one of the best novels I have read and recomend it for those under 15. (It is not really ment for 16-17 year old girls, but they too will enjoy it). Great Christmas Gift for anyone on your list that believes in a Cinderella Story that could indeed come true.
Rating: Summary: Great book to relate to...:) Review: Anyone can relate to at least one of the characters...or more. It was really fun to read...i read it in a day. I loved the main character and her best friend reminded me of mine (in some ways) Obviously the author knew which *stars* are kool right now (ex:josh hartnett, heath ledger, gwen stefani, etc.)(at least with who i hang out with) and it made the book easier to relate to. I think any teenage girl would love this book...i know i did.
Rating: Summary: A must read for every American girl! Review: "All-American Girl" is the brand new book written by Meg Cabot, also the author of the famous series for teen girls, "The Princess Diaries".PLOT SUMMARY: 15-year-old Samantha Madison lives in Washington DC with her mother, father, and two sisters (she's the middle child). Sam describes herself as total redheaded outcast--always dressing in black, listening to punk/rock music, etc. Her older sister, Lucy, is the most popular girl (cheerleader, nonetheless) at her high school and is dating the guy of Sam's dreams, high school rebel, Jack Ryder. Sam's younger sister, Rebecca, is a genius who attends a special school for gifted children. Sam's life abruptly changes when she saves the president of the United States from an assassination...while cutting her art lessons. Not only does Sam receive a broken arm, but she also becomes famous when the president himself announces that she is teen ambassador to the UN. Things couldn't get worse, right? Wrong! Because now she thinks the president's own son, David, may be in love with her and all she wants is for Jack to love her! OVERALL THOUGHTS: I'm a little old for Meg Cabot's teen books but I must say that I am always amazed by her well-written/described characters and witty sense of humor. This book is well-written, and should be enjoyed by all teenage girls. If you like romantic-comedy novels with a little bit of fantasy twisted into it, then you should definitely read "All-American Girl". The plots are always simple, straight-forward, and a little bit predictable but it doesn't matter because these books are too good not to read. I highly recommend "All-American Girl" by Meg Cabot. Score: 98/100 A+

Rating: Summary: Read All-American Girl! It rocks! Review: All-American Girl is a great book! It was a very fun (yes, it was Fun to read it) book to read. The characters were really cool, and the story is interesting. It is about a fifteen year old girl who saves the life of the president of the United States of America. It's about her life, and how it changes after saving the president. The characters are very believable. This was a totally awesome book. Hey, I actually read it for FUN in my SPARE TIME! That should tell you something. Anyway....read this book. It's way awesome!
Rating: Summary: Another great book Meg! Review: We all love Meg Cabot and how she gets into the teenage mind but it is truely inspiring how when This girl saves the president and breaks her wrist her main concern is how to make sure her parents don't find out that she skipped her art lesson. A little un beleavable but amazing none the less.
Rating: Summary: A Great Read For Teens Review: This book was a great read. I read it in a totally of three days. As a big fan of Meg Cabot I was very excited to read her latest. After meeting her (which was really cool) she told me that if I enjoyed the Princess Diares as much as I made it sound she hoped that I liked this one. I can relate to Samantha Madison so much. I too often day dream of being like Gwen Stefini. It's a good book especially if you like her previous work!
Rating: Summary: Star-Spangled Success Review: Top ten reasons to purchase All-American Girl: 10. Samantha Madison is just like Mia Thermopolis in The Princess Diaries (Meg Cabot. New York: HarperCollins, c2000) and its sequels. Well, not EXACTLY like her. She's into art instead of environmental causes and animal rights. Mia is a vegetarian, while Samantha hardly eats anything but hamburgers, and cannot stand vegetables. Also, Samantha saves the president of the United States from being shot, rather than finding out she's a princess of a small European country. Still, they are both insecure introverts thrust into the national and/or international limelight, who handle it like typical teenagers, often with hilarious results. 9. Find out why if you're going to shoot the president to impress somebody famous, it's best not to listen to a song about that person over and over again in a music store beforehand. 8. Learn little-known facts about Dolley Madison-the first lady, not the ice cream brand. 7. See that it's possible to get a boyfriend even if your religious mother dresses you funny-especially if your best friend saves the president's life. 6. The president's son ... would be much better to date than an older sister's boyfriend. 5. Encounter a popular cheerleader who surprises her little sister by having more depth than her urban rebel artist boyfriend who their parents hate. 4. Discover how forced art lessons and a dedicated teacher can benefit even the most talented young artists despite the presence of a psychotic talking bird. 3. See how having someone who saved the president's life fall on you can advance your career as a news anchor. 2. The author actually has teens listening to music people their age like, rather than favorites of thirty- and forty-somethings. News flash to authors of young adult books-most people aged 13-19 are NOT into Bruce Springsteen and The Rolling Stones! 1. Cabot has turned lists into a credible writing style. The ones in the book are similar to this one, and they bring out the humor in situations that are obviously painful to the protagonists of both All-American Girl and The Princess Diaries trilogy.
Rating: Summary: All-Amercian Girl Review: All-American Girl stars 15 year old Samantha Madison, middle child and urban rebel. Sam's life is pretty normal being the mid kid between her popular older sister Lucy (whose boyfriend, Jack, Sam happens to be in love with) and her genius kid sister Rebecca. But that all changes when Lucy shows their parents the celebrity pictures Sam has been charging people to draw. So her parents force her into art lessons. Sam reluctantly goes and humiliates herself on the first day there. The only good thing is that she met David, a fellow artist who happened to like her combat boots. But the next day when Sam decides to skip art class she ends up stopping an attempted asassination on the president's life by a Christie Brinkley, "Uptown Girl" loving man. Soon Sam is being hounded constantly by the press and given unwanted responsibilities and popularity. But that's not the worst part. The worst part is that the president's son just might be in love with her. Armed with her Top 10 lists Sam is a refreshing character. Even though I'm sure none of us reders have ever saved the president's life, you can still easily relate to Sam. Excellent read!
Rating: Summary: All American Girl - filled with all american heart Review: OMG! This book was amazing! I read all of the princess diaries books by Meg Cabot and figured this was going to be like that. But boy was I wrong! This book had a totally different plot (apart from the love part of it) and I was hooked from beginning to end. Of course it's a love story about a girl who saves the president's life. I could totally see someone acting exactly like Sam: 1.being in love with her sister's (idiotic) boyfriend, 2.having to deal with every day problems along with many others, 3.Being in love but not knowing it, and 4.having the perfect older sister and a gueinus younger sister and being the average one stuck in the middle. I highly recomend you read this book and even BUY it! I loved it and I think you will too.
