Summary: This book is excellent and you will not put it down.
Review: I have read all of Rosalyn's book's and I must say this is the one that made her an excellent writer. I struggled with "Knowing". "One Better" was good, but my personal opinion, she tried too hard. "Knowing" and "One Better" had good endings but I was disappointed with the meat of the novels. When I picked up "Blue Collar Blues", I thought how awesome, she has truly become a fantastic writer. Her natural talents flowed and I flipped page after page because I could not wait to see what was going to happen next. I could not put it down. She took the blue collar world and make it come alive. The characters were real and the story line believable. Keep up the good work and I can not wait until the next book is out. I meet you in person at the Shrine of the Black Madonna in Atlanta, Georgia and I admire and appreciate your work (Cecelia Jones, VP, Circle of Friends Book Club II.

Summary: Great Read!!!
Review: I have to say that this was the first book that I have read by Rosalyn McMillan. I truly enjoyed the book. I was able to idenitify with the characters. The description of the characters and the drama surrounding each one of them made the book more interesting. (Go Thyme and Khan) I am waiting on this authors next book and will continue to recommend talented black authors like Rosalyn to all of my friends. Please keep writing Mrs. McMillan.

Summary: Escape from my reality
Review: I just finished Blue Collar Blues today. I definitely recommend Ms. Millan's three books. I enjoy the manner in which she develops her characters. I also think her writing is a great fictional escape from my own reality. Thanks Ms. Millan for three wonderful books.

Summary: A made for television novel.
Review: I just finished reading Blue Collar Blues. This was a good read. I like the interesting names Ms. McMillan creates for her characters, i.e., Thyme & Khan; or Spice, Sterling, & Mink from "One Better." The names add some flavor, glitz, and animal magnetism to her writing. I liked the ending where she gives an update on the characters lives. I have read all of Ms. McMillan's books and I look forward to her next one.

Summary: Very, Very Good Book!
Review: I really enjoyed this book, actually, I have enjoyed all the books Ms. McMillan has written. I liked the fact that by Thyme being in the position that she was, she did not let it go to her head and treat Kahn as if she was beneath her. Even though Luella died a horrible death, she did get what she deserved for going over to Antonio's house and beating up his wife all because he did not want her. I was so glad Thyme left her husband, it took her a while, but at least she did it and found herself someone who she loved and wanted to have children by.

Great book, can't wait for the next.

Summary: the author did a good job showing both sides of a coin
Review: I truly enjoyed reading Roslyn's latest novel. It definitely kept my interest. I could hardly put it down. I enjoyed the characters and their contrasts. I could feel the tension, the emotion, the pain. It was just wonderful. I look forward to her next page-turner.

Summary: Depressing beyond belief.
Review: I was able to "borrow" this book from the bookstore where I work. I read/skimmed it in the space of a few hours, because I am a fast reader. Thyme's husband's playing both his wife and his mistress depressed the hell out of me. The whore Louella depressed me. Not many things about this book DIDN'T depress me. I don't know, maybe it was just my mood.

Summary: Rosalyn really outdone herself with this novel!!!!
Review: I was able to read this book in no time at all!!! I was drawn in from the first few pages up until the last ! The characters seemed so real! So, real at times that there were a few characters that reminded me of a few people that I have run across. - In and out of the plant. I know the other books to come will be just as good as this one.

Review: I'm a heavy reader. I read perhaps two maybe three books a week! I have my favorite authors of course (white as well as African-American), and when I've read everything my favorites have on the market at the time, I cautiously try new authors (particularly African-Americans). Rosalyn McMillan was one such trial. I read Blue Collar Blues, and didn't like any of the characters. It was like watching a house, in complete shock and horror, go up in flames knowing people are inside. I don't know people like these characters, don't want to, but I bet they exist. I'm in the middle of her book One Better, and again cannot find one redeeming quality in any of the characters-they're completely and utterly unlikable. I read for pleasure, escapism and to learn a few of life's lessons along the way. I took nothing away from Blue Collar, but a bad feeling. If you like low-down dirty twisted individuals, then her books are for you. If you read for pleasure and fun (as I do) try another author!
