Rating: Summary: A first rate thriller Review: This was a very enjoyable read that kept my attention from the first page. The author did his homework on military procedures and it shows. I highly recommend it if you're interested in a suspenseful mystery.
Rating: Summary: OUTSTANDING AND WORTH ALL464 PAGES Review: I really enjoyed this book because it was non stop intrest. Nelson Demille's,Paul Brenner and his partner Cynthia Sunhill are a good match. I Know they have come out with a movie, but I think John Trivolta is not the right man for the part of Paul Brenner. He is too young for one thing, and not tough enough. After reading the book I would suggest not seeing the movie, it would ruin the great story Demille has written.
Rating: Summary: Read at your own risk. You'll be addicted Review: witty dialogue, suspense, high tension. The author has done a great job. The book has provided an insight into the conflict and dilemma in the US Army. The detailed information in the forensic discoveries, the re-creating of the crime, are just two of the many proof that the author has done his homework before putting his pen on paper.
Rating: Summary: It is par excellence from beginning to end. Review: I enjoyed this novel to the fullest extent possible. The style of writing and the content were enough to make the novel an onscreen hit. You could actually visualize the events as they took place, you were transformed into the times and places by the writer. You could "feel" the characters, the wit, humour and emotions which were conveyed with utmost perfection amd true talent. You could see the intellectual ability of the writer with utmost precision.
Rating: Summary: no stop action Review: I loved this book it kept you going till the end
Rating: Summary: Great read on military culture combined with crime. Review: As a former Air Force officer and a former Air Force spouse, I could thoroughly understand the military background. It is another world that civilians are not aware of. I found it to be a great crime story that kept me tied to it for four days. The bayonet was a mystery, though, that wasn't resolved. But otherwise it is a great read for escapism from our everyday lives. Isn't that was reading is about?
Rating: Summary: Super suspense Review: Nelson DeMille still has it! I'm always into books with a military theme or setting and though war novels are at the top of my preferred reading list (War of the Rats is good, so is The Killer Angels and The Triumph and the Glory) there is always room for thrillers like Demille writes. The West Point setting is intriguing and though there are some mistakes in the book regarding miltary service culture etc, the book is still very, very good. I put off seeing the movie until I read the book and now can compare the two. Four stars for Demille for The General's Daughter, great suspense and tight plotting.
Rating: Summary: A quick, entertaining read. Review: Interesting from the very beginning, this book has several twists and turns. With witty dialogue and likable characters the pages turn all too quickly.
Rating: Summary: Great book, captured and kept my interest Review: I ordered this book to take with me while travelling and found I could not put it down! I finished it in two days of non stop reading on the plane and while on vacation. The author does an excellent job of setting the stage for the story and then taking you through the many twists and turns of a well-built plot.
Rating: Summary: This book is awesome! Review: The book was well written and had a great story line. You can tell Mr. Demille has roots in the military. I enjoyed the book totally as did my wife. I would recommend this book to anyone! Mr. Demille IS one of the best authors of today.
