Summary: Mystery murder that would keep Columbo searching for clues!
Review: DeMille, you've done it again! I'm new to reading your Novels, but after Blood Work, Gold Coast and The Poet, this one kept me up at night, reading untill my eyes said NO, but my brain said don't let go! What a mystery! Hitchcock would have hired you in a minute! My two favorite books are being made into movies, this one and 'Alien Rapture', a conspiracy thriller, by Brad Steiger.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Compelling and full of DeMille humour.
Review: I picked up this book after reading Plum Island and Spencerville. I was not sure I would enjoy the book as much as the first two I had read, due on the most part to the fact that the drama was set within the military confines of an army base in the Southern United States. However, I need not have worried. This is in fact the best DeMille novel I have read to date. The main character Paul Brenner allows DeMille to again share with us his great sense of humour, which captivates from begining to end. Brenner is a similar character to the one we were introduced to in Plum Island, and although the setting is different the plot takes the same twists and turns, while compelling the reader to turn the pages. DeMilles' understanding of how a 'cop' thinks, acts and investigates is first rate whether in the military or on Long Island. If this is the first DeMille you have read I will guarantee it won't be your last, if it's not the first it won't disapoint.

Summary: Thrills B4 Yr. 2K!!!
Review: Great book. I am not much of a fiction book reader, this one is unique. Can't wait for the movie--Star War can wait!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Once you pick it up, you can't put it down!!
Review: WOW!!! This was such a great read. I purchased this book before I knew it was going to be a movie which made me very excited to get started. It took me a little over a day to read. I felt so sorry for the General's daughter yet disgusted at the same time, especially knowing how weak other people can be. I can't wait to see the movie, I just hope I won't be disappointed.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: a Book you will read again and again....
Review: I have a background in Military Police and thought this book was great! I didn't know who did it and loved the by-play between the two central characters, hell, if I met this man, I would want him. I first read it in 1993, and have reread it many times since. Cant wait for the movie...

Summary: My first DeMille book. Wow!!!!
Review: A very exciting book! I could hardly put it down. The plot twists and the psycology of it are very entertaining. The relationship between Brenner and Sunhill is intriguing . Too bad it had to end!!!! A must read for Tom Clancy fans.

Summary: Wonderful!
Review: This is the first Demille book I have ever read, and it is because I heard that it would be made into a movie starring John Travolta (I'm a BIG fan), but I wasn't disappointed at all! The best thing about it is its "no s*it" characters. It's so bitingly witty, and you actually "move along" with the characters. I don't know how to describe it, but the characters are such that you would want to see them again in another book. I am now in the middle of Plum Island, which is even better than this I think!

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Not the best, BUT....
Review: The general's daughter just wrapped up filming, in Savanah G.A. Maybe someone can tell me why Demille hasn't been able to sell himself to the production companies? Then again maybe that's a good thing... for the people who love him?

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Coulda been 5 stars but for 1 loose end!!!!
Review: I loved this book! This was the first book of his I've read...can't wait to read the rest!!!! I just love smart-mouthed dectives and the concept, plotline, etc were different and original to me. It's a grown-up book; not at all self indulgent. Not coy, not cute; no "look at me aren't I cleaver"; no bets hedged!. The reason I didn't give it 5 stars? The hero had a niggling loose end that bothered him, me, and several friends of mine...but Nelson never tied it up

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: a masterpiece in dialog and plotting
Review: The General's Daughter is a brilliantly executed novel. After grabbing the reader with witty dialog and interesting characters, the story builds slowly and consistently. One feels as though they are discovering facts at the same pace with the characters, and knows what they know, nothing less, nothing more. With no over the top cotton candy plot twists, the book has a graceful exit strategy for the reader which fits nicely with the entire flow of the book. Nelson, you da man!
