Rating: Summary: Incrediblly well-written...a must-read Review: It is a very well-written book. DeMille is very gifted when it comes to plot and story line. It is a convincing story with sharp and sometimes comic dialogue. The dialogue itself is well composed and convincingly sounds like different people talking, and not the work of the same author. The characters are intriguing. The story is full of twists and turns whick make it a must-read. I enjoyed every page of it. Great, original story with appalling characters with intelligent, sharp dialogue.
Rating: Summary: Prepare to stay up all night! Review: This book had me hooked from the beginning! I'm prior service, now an USCG wife--the details of life on a base were perfect. I really was guessing who did it for a good bit of the book. I'm sure a lover of suspense novels will enjoy this book. Thanks Mr. DeMille!
Rating: Summary: If you like straightforward, no nonsense psychological Review: drama, you'll like this book. If you like feeling as if you're riding around in the back of a cop car, searching for the "bad guys" you'll like this book. I did.
Rating: Summary: GREAT!!!! Review: If the movie is even half as good as this book then we are all in for a good show! Fantastic story that provides some insight into crime solving and the not-so secret world of military customs. It is well written and very witty. Don't pass it up! PEACE
Rating: Summary: Great read Review: I enjoyed every aspect of this book....great characters, storyline. I couldn't put it down. Don't see the movie, because it is just based upon the book, 2 scenes maximum.
Rating: Summary: Excellent! If the movie is as good as book it will be a Hit Review: I have yet to read or listen to a Nelson DeMille book and not like it... I can't wait to see the movie looks like a top notch production...
Rating: Summary: Quick, enjoyable, 2 day read - can't wait for the movie! Review: I needed a distraction from my business journals & work related reading. I wanted to be entertained by a book that was well written, had few if any typos & made me wonder "who did it?" until the very end. Mission accomplished. Lot of fun, wild story.
Rating: Summary: Not a book you want to put down. Review: The book was compelling from the beginning. The banter between the two main characters was delightful and the suspense was skillfully handled. However, I was a little disappointed in the ending and felt there were a couple of threads left dangling - i.e. her West Point ring. Explanation given not satisfying. Also, the suicide at the end seemed like an easy out for the writer. This scene would have been a perfect opportunity to put the two main characters in grave danger, but that didn't happen. In fact, I never did feel the main characters were in any immediate danger at any time although there were threats. Overall, it was a good read and I would recommend it, but it had some disappointing flaws.
Rating: Summary: Had me wondering for days after finishing the book. Review: Demille has a gift for character development. He places you into the minds of a detective, psychologist, general, and a young female officer. You see the plot in each of their eyes and just as you get a glimpse of what might happen Demille baffles you with another twist. Very entertaining and well written.
Rating: Summary: An exciting military-thriller that will keep you reading Review: The story had every quality needed to keep the reader entranced. There was love, horror, suspense, and drama in every chapter. The plot unfolded to a surprisingly dramatic ending. You'll never want to put the book down.
