Summary: One of the best books I have ever read, couldn't put it down
Review: This book is a fast paced thriller about the hush- hush life in the military. Excellent read.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A true stunner.. kept you going throughout it's entirety
Review: Demille's use of real time characters really stood out in this book, and the imagery was outstanding. You could really picture exactly what was going on. He kept you involved, constantly making you think and remember what was going on and with whom. A mystery that kept getting stranger as you turned the pages. General's Daughter is a book that you can pick up, read, and not want to put down. Demille did an excellent job of organizing his material to lead you along a path that you didn't dare stray from.

Summary: Militarily interesting, complicated plot, unsatisying finale
Review: This book is hard to read at bedtime, because each wordy sentence must be concentrated on. The plot is very intriguing initially, but the eventual finale is a bit unsatisfying. Especially, after sticking with the author through all the plot's twists and turns. The military protocol and procedures were interesting as well as the romantic history of the two CID investigators. The confrontational scene between the general and his daughter was a little unbelievable. I wanted to read the book before seeing the movie and could not for the life of me picture John Travolta as the lead character. I will be anxious to see how the movie follows the book.

Summary: Demille fails to pull it off!
Review: I chose this book because I had heard of the movie and appeared to be an excellent thriller. In fact I found the plot boring. There was no intensity or suspense. The novel makes an attempt at romance but fails in convincing the reader of the whole affair. I read the entire novel waiting to find out who did it, but the story ended unsatisfying and with my questions unanswered. The interactions and interogations of people kept my interest. Also, I was intrigued by the characters in their descriptions and personalities. A descent read but unsatisfying.

Summary: An interesting look into today's army...well thought out.
Review: I really enjoyed the characters, their emotions and thoughts...they had dimension and depth. I would recommend to friends. I would like to read more by this author.

Summary: couldn' put it down!!! Nelson DeMille jsut got a new Reader
Review: I saw the Movie the day after I read the book. Of course thebook was a lot better but the movie was good too. Travolta was anexcellent choice. I found the book and movie to be pretty accurate as far as military life, being prior military myself, but I didn't experience any negative stuff most people precieve (mostly from literature) that women have. I liked the book because it wasn't as predictable as i thought it would be. It was one surprise after another. This was my first time reading any of Demille's work but certainly not my lasts.

Summary: Great!!!!!!!!!!!
Review: I agree with the reviewer who insisted that The General's Daughter and The Triumph and the Glory were the two best books out this summer. I'm career army and the West Point angle in this riveting novel is right on target. Catch the movie too, Travolta is in top form.

Summary: What is the Author's view of woman in the military?
Review: I've seen the movie for this book. The question I would like to ask the author is, what is his view on woman in the military? Some critics of the movie have stated that the author's opinion of woman in the military is very low. I would like to know first hand what his view is. Also, I've been told that some soldier's have been banned from watching this film. It is said that this film paints a negative view of military life. What's your opinion?

Thanks

Summary: I couldn't put it down.
Review: While I liked the story and just had to keep reading to find out why did all this happen, I also found myself thinking ... there are more villians here than the usual story provides. The investigator showed a lot of promise but seemed to blow it as a romantic "go get her". That was part of his character though. The story had so many tragic loose ends to it. So many loved and hated her for who she was and she just wanted justice and to have her father show he cared more for her than anything else. The movie was very good after reading this book.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Fast paced, and a great mystery plot
Review: It took me under two weeks to read the book. I loved it. I tried to imagine Travolta in it as I was reading it. It was serious and at times very funny, especially with Grace reading about Cynthias diary on the computer. Great book!
