Summary: Excellent !
Review: If you've read any of her other books, this one will help you really UNDERSTAND that she's writing about REAL things that have REALLY happened. We tend to read books and digest them easily - but now we know she has truly experienced everything she writes about.

Summary: Not what you'd expect.
Review: If you're looking for a good biography, this is the place. Unfortunately I was not aware of this before I bought the book. I didn't find it at all helpful in shedding light unto my own problems. Her lifestory is intersting, however, a biography was not what I was shopping for.

Summary: "Yesterday I Cried" opened my heart's stream of forgiveness.
Review: It's been easy to say I had forgiven others for their mistreatment of me as a child, but forgive- ness must start with self or it really is nonexistent. When Iyanla wrote of her abuser showing love the only way he knew how, I felt a great awakening from within. Some of the power was taken away from my abuser because finally I could better understand why people mistreat helpless children. For years I had blamed myself, but as I read I understood that the fault did not lie within me but with the adult who God intrusted my care. Even the letter to her son let me know that God always gives us what we need to flourish into spiritual adults. We either accept his grace from wherever it appears, or continue to look and long.

Summary: Reading About Me!
Review: Never before have I picked up a book and read as if reading about myself. My heart went out to Rhonda as I read about her difficult childhood. Tears flowed as her stories (so similar to mine) flooded my mind. Rhonda's drive and determination caused me to look at myself today...compared to yesterday. Sure, there are two of me - but now I understand that I can't totally rid the old me as I've been trying to do. I learned how to combine both persons into one - using self-discipline to keep the old me from taking control. I recommend this book to all who have had difficult and trying periods in their life - even for those who haven't. You will learn more about yourself than you ever thought possible.

Summary: NOT WHAT I EXPECTED
Review: Although I'm a huge fan of Vanzants, "Yesterday, I Cried" was not at all what I had hoped for and/or expected. After watching her on Oprah I bought the book thinking it would be about ways to overcome lifes challenges for a brighter tomorrow. Instead, it was (another) Auto-biographical story from Iyanla rehashing the same things we already know about her life. The title/premise of the book is misleading as this is definitely an Autobiography and not a book about ways things you can do to improve your life. Will be watching for your next book Iyanla!

Summary: Healing! Healing! Healing!
Review: As a Black Male who has experienced the horrors of sexual and physical abuse, I understand what was written in this book.

This book gave me the opportunity to look within and start my own process of healing from the pain. There may have been some people who may have not liked the book, but it was probally not for them anyway. If you have ever experienced abuse of any kind, then you can relate to this book, and enjoy it.

Iyanla, another fine job! Well Done.

Summary: I loved it!!!!
Review: Yes, this book may have been an InteriorsII, but from what I have been told, that book has been published without her ok. Basically, she needed to tell the lessons she has learned from her life in her own time and her own way.. So as far as I'm concerned, I'm glad she wrote the book. I was fascinated and read through the whole weekend.

Summary: I SAW MYSELF IN A NEW LIGHT WHEN I READ HER PAIN.
Review: A BOOK WRITTEN WITH HONESTY RIGHT FROM THE HEART. I SEE MYSELF WITH THE SAME PAIN AND FIGHT TO FIND MYSELF. I WILL REREAD THIS BOOK UNTIL THE PAGES ARE TORN. THANK YOU FOR BRINGING INSIGHT INTO MY OWN LIFE FROM YOUR OWN EXPERIENCES. I WILL TREASURE AND PASS IT ON TO ALL MY LOVED ONES. THE BOOK IS FILLED WITH ALOT OF INFORMATION FOR THOSE WHO ARE READY TO UNDERSTAND AND LOVE THEMSELVES. IT IS SO RARE WHEN I FIND A BOOK THAT HAS TOUCHED ME THE WAY THIS BOOK HAS, I COULDN'T STOP CRYING. THANK YOU.

Summary: Same thing different book
Review: I was dissapoined in this book. You can only tell your story so many times in so many ways without it getting boring. I waited so long for this book to come out that it was a real let down. The best part of the book was her letter to her son. I love you Iyanla, please hurry out with a new book.

Summary: Interiors II
Review: As much as I love Iyanla Vanzant, I was a bit dissapointed in this book. This was basically "Interiors", a previous book, rewritten in a different format. The book was good, but it just wasn't the new material I was hoping for.
