Rating: Summary: Another comfortable Jance mystery Review: Every time I read J.A. Jance, I get this comfortable feeling, like I live in Arizona (though it is one of the few states I've never visited). Sheriff Brady must find a serial killer who scalps the victims as part of his/her trademark. Could the killer be part of the new Apache dude ranch? Or could it be a disgruntled rancher tired of government regulation? The story gets complicated and even fairly kinky as we discover some of the deepest darkest secrets of the Cochise county citizens. You will not be dissappointed with this book.

Rating: Summary: Excellent Review: I couldn't put this book down long before picking it back up. The plot turned on you and the ending came as quite a surprise. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading the Joanna Brady mysteries, stumbling unto them during a brief time of unemployment and excessive reading. Her other series, with J.P. Beaumont, is just as good. Actually, I like "Beau" better but Joanna is really great herself.
Rating: Summary: Why did the author choose such a violent subject? Review: I enjoy reading the Joanna Brady mysteries but cannot recommend this one to my squeamish friends. I was surprised Jance chose such violent subject matter. Is this necessary???
Rating: Summary: FABULOUS BOOK!!!! Review: I enjoy this series and this book was the best yet. I like how Joanna has to deal with being a working parent. She seems "real." Also liked how Jance dealt with the relationship of Butch and Joanna and the changes brought out in this book. Also liked how Marianne dealt with tragedy.RECOMMEND YOU READ THIS BOOK
Rating: Summary: Very Good Mystery Review: I recently discovered the Joanna Brady series and have been happily reading along and enjoying the character of a woman sheriff in a small town. At first, I thought that her wearing a suit and heels to work was ridiculous but I realized that she probably had to be conservative since she was the first woman sheriff in the region. I also enjoy the Arizona setting and Jance's deft interweaving of family, friends, and mystery. I wasn't nuts about the serial killer plot in this book -- I identified this person the moment they made an appearance in the book by the "profile" similar to many on TV cop shows and movies. However, I suppose serial killers are everywhere. Overall, the Joanna Brady series keeps my interest and I've read about nine books so far.
Rating: Summary: Great mystery, great setting, great characters! Review: I stumbled across the Joanna Brady series with Desert Heat, and enjoyed the southern Arizona setting and the very real characters. I've since enjoyed following Joanna, her family and friends through the series of novels. Rattlesnake Crossing has really developed the relationship between Joanna and Butch - I can hardly wait till August for the next novel to be released to find out how Butch's moving to Bisbee will affect them! A good deal of the action in Rattlesnake Crossing takes place on the Pomerene Road north of Benson, and towards Redington...I was excited to read about the San Pedro Valley, the flora and fauna, and the surrounding nearly-ghost-towns, since we are planning a vacation to the area. In fact, I can hardly wait to visit Bisbee to see the real Copper Queen Hotel, and to check to see if the building housing Joanna's office really exists!
Rating: Summary: Rattlesnake Crossing Review: Ilived in Cochise County for 19 years. J.A.Jance discribes the area to a tee.Her stories blend in with the the way of life you will find in down there.
Rating: Summary: Another winner Review: J A Jance has done it again. Rattlesnake Crossing is an excellent addition to the previous Joanna Brady mysteries. Set in a large county in Arizona shots rings out in the night and JoAnna is off again trying to save the citizens of Cochise County from murder. Fans of the Joanna Brady should also check out JA Jance's other series JP Beaumont of Seattle. I recommend both series to mystery fans.
Rating: Summary: Joanna Brady at her best Review: J.A. Jance has done it again. I would hazard a guess that is the best J. Brady book yet. This book hit on some violent subject matter but it was handled in superb form and with a couple twists and turns to make it a book you just can't put down. Packed with action and intrique J. A. Jance has made Sheriff Joanna Brady a character that all people can identify with and come to love. I can't wait to read about Joanna Brady's next adventure in the little town of Bisbee, Az.
