Summary: A Disappointment
Review: This book is awful, it's the worst of the Malory series and a real disappointment. I hated the lead characters especially Amy Malory, what a spoiled little brat! Her stupid behavior caused so many problems for everyone and the self absorbed twit just didn't care!

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Not a true Malory
Review: This book just didn't do it for me. I love the Malorys, but this story quite annoyed me.

Warren is too stubborn and grouchy for me. I love troubled heros, but I think he was too exaggerated and I couldn't find anything to like about him. While I fell in love with almost all the other heros JL has created (Tony, James, Colt, Angel, Chandos, Lachlan, you name them) Warren kept stepping on my toes.

Amy is also stubborn and determined and her love for Warren seemed more of a fixation then love. Some reviewers have said that it is quite refreshing to have the woman hunt the man for a change, but Amy's 'courting' reminded me of a spoiled child who only wants to get a new toy that her parents wouldn't buy her.

Also, the funny scenes which are so great in the previous Malorys (especially Gentle Rogue and Tender Rebel) are missing. JL tries to write them, but they were unbelievable and forced and just didn't come to life.

And finally, the difference in age is just too big. Two people separated by almost a generation (20 years) don't have almost anything in common and couldn't possibly fall for each other.

Oh, but the scene of Georgina giving birth was immensely funny.

This gets 3 stars for featuring the 'older' Malorys, not for the book in itself. Not a re-read.

Summary: My Absolute Favourite
Review: This my favourite of the Mallory series and of all of Ms. Lindsey's books. AND one of my all time favourite romances period! Amy is the product of her Mallory upbringing and therefore completely in charge of her own life. She picks the most unsuitable, woman-hating, Mallory-hating, street-fighting sailor of a man to love. And of course her Uncles will stop at nothing to stop this romance, just like SHE"LL stop at nothing to get what she wants. Then there's the kidnapping which takes Amy and her sailor accross the Atalntic on a high seas adventure. I couldn't put the book down and I couldn't stop laughing either!

Summary: A one of a kind heroine!
Review: What's the typical heroine anyway?
Well, if you're reading the usual romances, then she has to be beautiful, has sense of humor, has a way with witty comebacks, and she has enough dignity and pride to resist the hero's charms...and finally give in close to the end of the novel.
Amy Malory is all that EXCEPT of the LAST criteria mentioned. She knocked me off my feet when I first met her. Man oh man, was she ever the most daring heroine or what??? Her "brazeness" irritated Warrer Anderson but she will ABSOLUTELY drive u to tears, from laughing of course, with her up-front manners.
As for Warren, wat can I say, if u have the most down-to-the-point girl, then u'll have the most unrelenting man u'll ever meet. But I think his control was too much. It went on and on and on, I thought he'll never give up. And then, when he finally did, wat do u know, there were only a couple of pages left. I was not satisfied, I wished it was LONGER.
This is my second Malory book, and I have to say that I enjoyed this better than "Gentle Rogue". This doesn't mean that I don't like James and George...I DO! Especially on this novel. The MALLORY brothers, James & Anthony, are at it again! READ IT, it was a fun ride, and I hope it will be for u too.

Summary: The magic of love . . .
Review: _The Magic Of You_, the fourth book in the much-loved Malory saga, is the story of Amy Malory and Warren Anderson. Though Amy is only a minor character in the first three books of the series, and at first I was disappointed that Ms. Lindsey hadn't picked a more prominent character to write about, I was pleasantly surprised with this book.

Amy Malory may look like her cousin Regina, she may even have the ability to manipulate a situation like her cousin, but she's also inherited a fair amount of her personality from the male members of the Malory clan. Bold and brazen like her uncles Tony and James, Amy has set her sights on Warren Anderson (you'll remember him as Georgina's brother in _Gentle Rogue_) and nothing will stand in her way. Fresh from the schoolroom, Amy is far from naive. Though innocent in action, her unabashed personality is just the match for the iron-willed and often ruthless Warren.

Warren Anderson has little use for women other than to soothe the yearnings of his body. Played false by a beautiful woman he thought he loved, Warren's heart is hidden behind so many walls he's sure no one will ever hurt him again. From the first minute Warren meets Amy he's shocked by her bold advances and even as his body responds to her in a way he can't control, he uses his strong resolve to resist her charms.

Though I'm a fan of all the Malory books, I'd have to say this one ties for the best book of the series with _Tender Rebel_. Amy's forthrightness is refreshing and certainly a welcome change from the simpering, sighing maidens who can usually be found as heroines in this genre. And, appropriately enough, this ground-breaking heroine gets a hero who isn't a cardboard copy of all the rest. Warren is far from being the perfectly romantic and dashing hero. He's rough around the edges and needs some serious adjustment to his attitude.

I'm really surprised with the tepid reviews this book has received, since I think it's among the best of Ms. Lindsey's work. If you're looking for a fiery romance between two strong, independent and bold characters, look no further than Amy and Warren. I know you'll love them as much as I have.
