Summary: i spent about 2 hours trying to discover what the plot was.
Review: this book, ultimately, is the last on my list of starw wars favs. if i wanted romance, i'd go to the romance section and get a book there ( i don't mind just a bit, i.e. luke and gaerial captison or han and leia). this one was really bad. ( not cool-bad, bad-bad). though, i have to admit, i did like nichos marr. use your own judgement on this book, don't take mine s an excuse not to read it.

Summary: Wonderful
Review: This is a wonderful change from the usual flow of Star Wars, away from all the blasting and supernovas. This is a calmer book from the usual but can have it's intelictual side of thinking and cracking a secret. But of couse it has its action side too, like a true Star Wars book! :-)This is only my review, take a look at the book yourself and decide on what your opinion on it is.

Summary: A beautiful book!
Review: This is my favorite of all the Star Wars books, because it features prominently my two favorite characters, Luke and Callista. Unlike most of the other Star Wars books, whose main focus is on the action and intrigue, Children of the Jedi is at its heart, a love story between Luke and the Jedi spirit he meets on a mission. Their story was very touching, and I was really disappointed to find that subsequent books had chosen not to go further with this relationship. I wish they had found a way to keep Callista and Luke together. It would have been interesting to have a Jedi knight who may not have awareness of the force anymore, but could still be a Jedi.

I'm not sure why so many people hated the book, although I do acknowledge that its style is definitely not your "typical" Star Wars novel. Still, it is beautifully written, and I encourage those on the fence about reading it to go ahead and read it!

Summary: Best non-Zahn Star Wars book I've read.
Review: Timothy Zahn remains the master of Star ars fiction, but Hambly is a reasonably close second. Unlike some of the other contributors (Kevin Andrson springs to mind), she can actually write. Unlike Anderson, Hambly doesn't keep repeating synopses of what happened 10 pages ago. She writes in a spare, elegant style. She merges romance and suspense in ways that will not appeal to the more juvenile Star Wars fans, who just seem to want shoot-em-ups, but that will appeal to grown-ups. What I especially liked about this book was the picture of Luke as both physically and emotional vulnerable. In too many of the other books, he comes off as implausibly all-powerful. In sum, ignore the bad reviews and decide for yourself.

Summary: A LOSER!
Review: Take it from a guy who reads more than 50 novels a year, this is among my all-time worst reading experiences! And I am a pretty forgiving reader! After spending more than a week trying to get through it, I still can't tell you what it was about. When I did follow it, it wasn't worth it anyway. I know not to try a Barbara Hambly book in the future!

Summary: Way to far sought.
Review: This is not a good book ! Some actions are so far sought, it`s ridiculous. Let`s follow a hunch, based on a hunch, based on a hunch and what do we find? A ship that brainwashes it`s crew ! Not even mentioning the kid who can alter programming of droids and ships. Come on; it`s not even believable. Of course; it`s science fiction. But even after taking that in account, It`s still to far sought This book is not up to the Star Wars standards. Better read Shadows of the Empire.

Summary: it's a good book, REALLY!
Review: C'mon everybody. Give this book a chance. It is not a shoot em up action novel, but it has its moments. In fact, it is more of a suspense novel. I liked trying to figure out what was going on on Belsavis. The Luke on the ship part, was good too. So don't just write this book off, it is alot better than most of the reviewers say.

Summary: BORING!!!
Review: I never thought I wouldn't like a SW book. This book proved me wrong on that assumption. This book is so boring!!! It doesn't even really have a "bad" guy in it. I don't like how only the New Republic side is told. Hambly could have told the same plot in 100 less pages. Usually I read a 400 page SW book in 2 to 4 days. This one took me 8 days to read it!!! Only read this if you absolutely have to. You're better off reading any of the great examples of SW fiction written by Michael A. Stackpole.
