Summary: Grabs Your Attention
Review: I chose this book off of a summer reading list for a high school English class and I had never heard of it or any other books on the list. I just finished reading it and it was wonderful! It keeps your attention and there are no boring parts at all. The drama goes non-stop until the novel ends.

Summary: It's been recommended to me, and I'd recommend it to others!
Review: I picked this book up a couple of months ago at a used bookstore in San Francisco when I was still in college. The man at the desk asked me what was up with this book because he's seen it cross his counter many times. I said I wasn't sure, but because it's been recommended to me by more than one creative writing professor, I was going to find out. Though it's taken me three months to finish this book because I've been so busy, I've found that I've been able to pick up the story at any time and be reinitiated into its world immediately. This book just kept defying my expectations. I like how it's told in individual vignettes that all seem to fall in place by the end. I think if I ever met Bone (or saw her on the side of the road while passing through her town), I wouldn't think twice about her. But after reading this novel, she has become an unlikely hero to me, someone I will endear and champion forever.

Summary: One of the best
Review: Allison takes you under the covers and into the world of the poor rural South in a way that leaves you inspired and depressed at the same time. Her in depth description of characters makes you want to reach out and hug them or spit in their face. Bone is one of the finest heroines of the 20th Century.

Summary: The world's most beautifully written book
Review: It's been several years since I've read this book. It is the only book I've ever read that has caused me to cry out loud. I hope Dorothy Allison lives forever so that I will never have to stop looking forward to her next work.

Summary: A bitter disappointment!
Review: After reading Allison's latest Cavedweller I couldn't wait to read this book. I quickly discovered that this book was not as well written. I found it boring and I could not wait to finish it, this was the only time that I perfered the movie over the book!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Disturbing.
