Summary: Son of the Mob
Review: Son of the Mob, by Gordon Korman, is about a young boy who's father is one of the most respected men in the mob. Although having a father in the mob could be handy at some times, Vince hated it. And once Vince got involved, he couln't get out, and perhaps was going to lose true love and a life of his own.
Son of the Mob was a book that made me realize what it can be like having people around you that you don't really know the truth about. It also made me realize that some people have people watching them and listening to them all the time every day, and maybe never knowing that nothing is personal in the mob. And sometimes the truth hurts, but you are going to find out some time but it is easier to find out in the begining.
I think this book would be a great book to sit down and read.

Summary: An Excellent Book
Review: Son of The Mob

The Son of The Mob is a great book and I would recommend it to anyone. It's about a kid named Vince and his whole family is part of a mafia. That includes his father, his mother, his brother, and all of his uncles. Vince on the other hand, doesn't want to have any thing to do with the business. Vince has a best friend named Alex. Alex and Vince try to impress the girls at their school by doing weird things. Vince usually can get a girlfriend but his brother always messes it up for him. For instance, when he went on his first date, he took a girl to the beach for a pickneck. Turns out that his brother tied a guy up and threw him in the back of Vince's car with the pickneck blanket. When Vince joins the football team, he finds out that he's very good because the other team knows about his dads business. They don't want to hurt Vince because they are afraid of what Vince's dad might do to them if they do hurt Vince. Vince quits the football team when he finds out. Then he meets a girl named Kendra that works for the school newspaper. Vince and Kendra meet together a couple of times throughout the book. I rate this book at a **** star rating.

Summary: Son of the mob
Review: The son of the mob is about a 17 year old boy named Vince whose dad works in a vending machine business, but Vince wants nothing to do with it. Vince with his best friend Alex does everything together. Vince is doing a great job until on a date on night his brother put something in the business named Jimmy the Rat in his trunk. Even when he was trying to play football his dad's life got in the way because of a boy with big mouth. Weeks later Vince meets the love of his life named Kendra at a party that him and Alex went to together. While at the party Vince and Kendra end up making out. Vince finds out something about Kendra's father what he wishes he didn't know. Vince's life gets very complexed when his life and the vending machine crash into each other. The next thing Vince knows is that he is learning about his brother, his dad and even his mom.
This books had many strengths such as good detail, you feel like you are in the book. It also does a good job describing things so you know what's going on and it looks like. In my eyes this book has know weaknesses.
I would recommend this book to anyone who likes fiction.

Summary: Son Of The Mob!
Review: This book is about a boy named Vince Luca, and how he wants to stay out of his dads business, but ends up on a roller coaster ride that could change his love and his life.
Vince joins a football team so ha can live somewhat of a normal life. Vince thinks its' pretty weird that nobody ever tackles him, and then it dawns on him. Everyone is afraid to tackle him because he's' a Luca.
Vince wants his father to be like all the other dad, but can't except the fact that his father is in the "vending machine business."
The Luca family has a bad reputation; you see his father (a.k.a. Honest Abe Luca) is in the "Vending Machine Business," so really you never know if your birthday present was stolen, or if one of your' so called "uncles," have killed someone. If you guessed mob, you're correct. Mr.Luca is in a mob, well actually he owns one.
Everything is going down hill for Vince, until he meets Kendra. Vince finds out that Kendra's' Father (a.k.a. Agent Bite Me) is an F.B.I. agent that records everthything going on at the Luca house! Will they keep their love life a secret?
This book, in my opinion is full of action, romance, and a little bit of suspense. This book is a kind of book you're never going to be able to put down. You can't predict anything in this book its' kind of like a Spielberg movie. Vince will keep you asking for more. THE QUESTION IS WILL THERE BE A SEQUAL? Go to your local library and ask for "Son Of The Mob!

Summary: Amazing Summer Read
Review: This book is truly amazing. All of the "what if" questions about the mafia seem to be answered in this great story.

What if a mafia prince teen decided he didn't like the family business?
What if that same teen wanted to just be normal?
What if that teen wanted to go out with a girl who's father works for the FBI?
What if that girl's father was the agent bugging his house?

The book is truly amazing, filled with laugh out loud text, and a great romantic story, this book is a definite, must have.

Summary: Don¿t expect the Sopranos¿.
Review: This book tells the story of Vince Luca, a pretty normal 17 year old, except for, oh yeah, he's family is in the mob. The story moves back and forth between Vince trying to figure out how much, if any, he wants to be involved in the "family business" and his budding love affair with Kendra. Oh, Kendra's dad just so HAPPENS to be an FBI agent, and the one that's investigating Vince's family. I saw most of the twists in the story coming from miles away, and it everything was a bit unbelievable. Plus, I felt like Vince never really got developed as a character.

Summary: Its amazing
Review: This book was really funny, I am so glad i read it. It puts a funny twist on a disfunctional family.

Summary: Feed this to teens--it's sweet like candy!
Review: This is one funny book. I started laughing in the first chapter and laughed right to the end. Some highlights? 1. Vince figuring out no one on the opposing football team will tackle him because his dad is a mob boss. 2. Vince narrowly escaping Kendra's FBI agent dad while at her house undergoing a treatment for head lice. And 3. Vince trying to help Jimmy Rat and Ed Mishkin set up a monthly budget so his "uncles" won't break their fingers!

One of my favorite characters was Vince's brother, Tommy. He's full of surprises--like when he hires his 17-year-old brother a prostitute to make up for ruining one of Vince's dates! And just when you're convinced he's the world's biggest idiot, he proves you wrong: he's really quite smart when it comes to the internet (but you'll have to read the book to find out more!).

The only thing I wish Korman had included in the book was the reaction of Kendra's family when they found out she was dating the son of a mob boss. I mean, we know they're upset--but I wish we could have heard the dialogue of THAT scene! The members of Vince's family get plenty of opportunities to speak and reveal their personalities. It would be fun to get to know Kendra's family a little better.

I would recommend this book to anyone over the age of 11. It's a fun read that keeps you laughing...especially if you have some background knowledge about the mob. But even if you don't, there's plenty to make you smile!

Summary: Don't mess with the mo-- VENDING machine business!
Review: This was a fun, quick read, chronicling the tales of a mob boss' son, "prince" Vince Luca.

As much as he tries to stay out of his father's business, it seems to control everything he does. From his personal life (try getting arrested on your 16th birthday because the car your dad gives you is "hot") to his love life (his first date was abruptly ended when he discovers Jimmy the Rat "resting" in his car trunk), the mob finds it's way in somehow!

The situations are hilarious, and the characters are believable and very enjoyable, especially that of his girlfriend, Kendra...the daughter of the FBI agent trying to lock Vince's dad up for good (match made in heaven, no?).

This book will not disappoint!
