Rating: Summary: FANTASTIC! AWESOME! DEFINITE PAGE TURNER! Review: This was my first JM book, and I was very surprised to read some other readers didn't care for it. I myself couldn't put it down. I used to be a big Nora Roberts fan, but her last few books were less than spectacular. A friend was always trying to get me read Judith McNaught, but I didn't care for historicals. Happened to see Night Whispers at the library, and once I started, just couldn't put it down. Loved all the characters. Book had all the ingredients that I enjoy--opposites attract, sister relationships, love, humor, law enforcement, family, suspense (though I do agree with the comments about the murder plot being so predictable). If Ms. McNaught is reading this, PLEASE do sequels featuring a grown-up Courtney and about Sara and Jess.
Rating: Summary: THIS WAS A GOOD READ, BUT NOT HER BEST!! Review: I am a fan of McNaught's books and this was a good, well developed novel. She has written better though. The novel keeps you intrigued, but the plot is predictable. I would recommend it to my friends for a light read.
Rating: Summary: This kept me wanting to read day and night! Review: I really liked and enjoyed this novel. After reading the reviews I was a little discouraged about wanting to buy it, but I bought it anyways because it was a McNaught novel. But I was thoroughly shocked how they can say such bad things about the novel, for I truly found it entertaining! It had a nice and creative story, and yes, it wasn't as romantic as the other novels, but the mystery was there to take its place. Maybe the readers of McNaught just aren't used to having a little mystery in her novels. I recommend this book to anyone! Great job again Judith McNaught! I found Sloan wonderful!
Rating: Summary: Judith McNaught is excellent she keeps the pages turning Review: This my first book by Judith McNaught but I have yet to find her boring you want to continue turning pages. Look forward to reading many more of her books.
Rating: Summary: A big disappointment... Review: I am a fan of Ms. McNaught and have read most if not all of her novels. For this one, I have to agree with the more negative comments. The novel is sadly lacking in depth and is a big disappointment specially when compared to all her other works.
Rating: Summary: It was good - but I've read much better Review: I liked Night Whispers but I found it be somewhat predictable. I did find it hard to put down at times. This was the first book I read by Judith McNaught and I would like to read some of her others. The ending was predictable but I still enjoyed it and would recommend it if you are looking for light reading
Rating: Summary: Is this really McNaught?? Review: I just re-read Whitney My Love for the 3rd time. Can this really be the same author?? I love her historicals and Paradise and Perfect. What happened to the last two books? This is terrible!
Rating: Summary: Oh Please!!! Review: I'm sorry but I hugely disappointed in this book. It purports to be a romantic mystery, but the mystery is insipid at best. The bad guys are the ones who have absolutely no dimension -- of course they are bad, we have no attachment to them and the heros are all beautiful and kind and generous. I know it's fiction, but it has to be a little believeable.
Rating: Summary: What is with the names? Review: Judith McNaught has been watching too many soap operas apparently. Where else could she have gotten such insipid names? Paris, Sloan, Noah...oh please!
Rating: Summary: Night Whispers???? Review: After reading all of Ms. McNaught's books, I found this to be similar in plot, but not as deep. I liked the characters, but was disappointed in the end. Several relationships were brought to a hasty close with little or no interaction. After having read Perfect and Paradise (which I've reread several times) this one left me wanting more. The editing was a little sloppy as well. Twice, there were references to the wrong character and I had to read again to avoid confusion. I purchased the hardcover of this one, but should have waited for the paperback, (especially after Remember When)! All in all, it still kept me entertained enough to continue reading her work.
