Review: As always with Dave's columns, these stories are incredibly funny, so much so that I almost had to be kicked out of my Biology class because I was laughing so much reading this book after a test. As it says on the cover, "Mr. Barry is the funniest man in America and we should encourage him. Buy this book". Do it!

Summary: Hilarous but Dated
Review: As one other reviewer commented, Dave Barry is the funniest man on earth, who writes the funniest books on earth.This book, a collection of some of his earlier columns for the Miami Herald, is no exception to this rule. It covers his usual odd topics including traffic, homebrew beer, politics, and... weasels. You really have to read it to understand the book, but I'll say that it's really funny. The only problem (and the reason it's lacking one star) is that some of his humor is based on current events and politics, and while it's still hilarious, some of these works (from the early 90s) are becoming outdated. Otherwise, a great read, especially if you can find it for cheap.

Summary: A great laugh in store
Review: Barry's observations are the funniest I have ever read. These selections were first published in the Miami Herald. I usually don't laugh out loud when I read, but this had me howling. All the articles are short and sweet. I was also impressed that he could write about the death of his father in a humorous, yet touching way. Truly a gifted humorist.

Review: Dave Barry is one of the funniest people in the world. I love his unique style of storytelling. This book made me laugh so hard that I had to stop reading in bed. My husband became irritated that I was waking him with my violent giggling. As a warning to everyone, watch out for the laughing fits you'll have when you read these tidbits.

Summary: Still hilarious after all these years
Review: I had to travel 6 hours by plane with no movie and no meal(Southwest airlines, if you are wondering). I wanted some humor to balance the suspense novel I also took along so, never having read Dave Barry before, I bought this "Greatest Hits" compilation of his newspaper columns. Though some of them are a little dated since they were apparently written in the 1980's, this is without a doubt the funniest book I have ever read. You will be laughing out loud. Technology, politics, kids, Sport utility vehicles and just about everything else are jabbed at here and the results are amazingly humorous.
If you need a great laugh for any reason, buy this book!

Summary: Lots of borring talks
Review: I learn from my experience if only a handful of people rated 5 stars don't believe it. I only read 15% of this book, and it is really really borring. I didn't laugh one bit. This book say if I am not laughing than I don't have humor...But, Amazon is way cool, 5 stars bookstore. I have bought quite a few books (> 50) at Amazon, and I will continue to buy it. Recommend: I did laugh with for better or for worst by Lynn Johnston. Clean and witty whole some family jokes. Judy Carter is also very funny. These two ladies are way cool !
