Summary: The best W.E.B. Griffin book in years...
Review: This is a teriffic read! As someone that has read all the previous twenty-four Griffin novels I rate "the Investigators" the best of the bunch. The story is not only believable, but Griffin somehow transfers the reader into the story. I feel that I grew up with Matt Payne (the main player) and know him as I would a best friend. You care deeply about all the "good" characters as well as the outcome of the main story. The only bad thing about this book is that it ends!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Excellent reading...sticking my hand to the pages..
Review: This is my first book from Mr. Griffin. Real top notch writing from a master story teller.I finished it within a few hours of reading..got to get all the rest of the books by him...he certainly had a new avid fan.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: I COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN
Review: This is the best detective novel the author has written. (Do not get me wrong I LOVED all the other Detecive Novels also) It was action pack from start to finish. I loved every page of this book.

Summary: Slow start--but picks up fast!
Review: This was my first Griffin, but it won't be my last. Once I got into the plot and got the characters straight (not always real easy), I couldn't put the book down. Griffin makes you care about the characters. I especially enjoyed the dialogue and the interpersonal relationships. The ending came as a complete surprise to me. Bring on the next of the Badge of Honor series!

Summary: author continues to write the best
Review: To help clarify the various characters kinship in each succeeding novel, a leading page showing a "family tree" would be helpful.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: For all that enjoy action books for the relaxation of it.
Review: W.E.B Griffin wrote this book, as he writes all of his books, so that once you start to read it you cannot put it down. He holds your interest and you cannot help thinking you are there watching it all unfold in frony of you!

Summary: great
Review: W.E.B Griffth is the best author of series I have ever read I've read Badge of HOnor novels men at war novels. My problem is I can't remember the titles I read. GRIffth has a way of making you fe3el as though you are one pof his charecters as you read his books. I've cruised the streets of Philladelephis flew off HEnderson Field at Guadacannal and rose thrugh the ranks from luetenent to general. and loved all the beatiful people I met along the way W.E.B. GRIFFTH? I'm hooked completely.

Summary: Author caught in a time warp
Review: W.E.B. Griffin is certainly a master storyteller if you want to consider the sheer number of words. However, this reviewer wonders if Mr. Griffin has stepped out into society much in the past two decades. The stilted dialogue, 1955ish morals, and almost complete lack of reference to technology makes this novel read like a reprint. Matt Payne is a 25 year old detective in a police force that seems to be made up of the sons of former heroes, many of them connected to Mainline Society in Philadelphia. His improbable romance with a young woman who still calls her parents Mommy and Daddy is enough to make the reader with any sensitivity to the position of women today want to throw up. And the writing, full of parenthetical phrases and asides makes the reading veerryy sloooww. To the author's credit, the story is complex and interesting in spite of the distracting out-of-date references. When was the last time you went to a gas station and there was an "attendant"?! Recommended for those who have nothing else to read but have a lot of patience.

Summary: Amazing, Fast Paced Crime Investigation
Review: WEB Griffin excellently portrays Matt Payne, a Philadelphia UnderCover Detective in The Investigators. The book is a joy to read and is a must-buy for anyone nterested in criminal justice or the F.B.I.!!!!!!!
