Rating: Summary: devasted Review: It was maybe the best of the series,Wanting the book to continue is amybe the best thing about his writing, but the ending left me limp,I felt a love one had been hurt.I to want to go by and give Matt my condolences.
Rating: Summary: Fascinating Review: It was the first book of the Badge of Honor series I read. The first 100 pages are a little bit slow, but then it was so good that I could not put it away until I finished. The end was very surprising but too sad.
Rating: Summary: The Investigators Review: Mr. Griffin had my attention from the start of the book. In the book he keeps the suspense and it was hard for me to put it down, I wanted to finish it. I hope there are more of the series coming out soon.

Rating: Summary: Another winner by a master of the police procedural Review: The Investigators is a return to some of the early Griffin best. He has a knack for characterization despite the fact that, in many ways, they are all the same (someone is always rich as Croesus etc.) This novel manages to keep focused on the main characters, has a coherent plot line and moves at light speed. I always try to set aside enough time to enjoy a new Grifffin novel without interruption; I know that once I start, not much will get done until I finish. I am really looking forward to the next one (whatever series he decides to continue). Thanks Bill.
Rating: Summary: Griffin's Best Book in a While Review: The Investigators is probably the best WEB Griffin police book in the Badge of Honor series. The action is fast, the characters are more tightly drawn and the ending has a real world flavor about it. Considering the flatness of his last two books, Behind the Lines and Men At War, The Investigators is a very good yarn.
Rating: Summary: Great....but.... Review: The Jove edition /December 1998 is missing pp. 256-257. In its place are pp. 356-357. I fooud this annoying.
Rating: Summary: Same old stuff Review: The latest in Griffin's Badge of Honor series has a good plot and story line, but gets bogged down in his explaining details from past books. He also has all characters continuously "cracking wise" with each other, no matter how serious the situation is, to the point it gets old. And speaking of old, the technical aspects of the story place it at least back in the early 1970s, even though Mr. Griffin is very careful not to list even one date in the entire book. The bad guys steal M2 carbines from the National Guard, none of whom have had this obsolete weapon for more than 25 years - the M-16 has been the standard small arm for all branches of the military since the Viet Nam War. Police officers, regardless of rank, have no pagers or cell phones and are constantly looking for phones to call in on. All this in spite of the fact that a NIKE missle site, explained to have been abandoned after the end of the cold war, is used in the plot. This would make the time period at least post-1989. Mr. Griffin needs to spruce up his character's dialogue, move the story along, and bring the Philly police force into the 1990s.

Rating: Summary: Good as Usual, However, Somewhat Outdated. Review: The story line for the book is excellent. It is nice to see that all are moving up the ladder. However, Mr Griffin needs to get some insight into the latest and greatest in law enforcement. I do not know of a law enforcement agency in the country that is not carrying fire power greater than a .38. Most allow 9mm. Also, there are cell phones, and pagers, where "reach out" has a whole new meaning. I happened to be in Philadelphia recently, and a "smooth" car was coming down the street Code 3. It was up to date, with strobes in the parking lights, and tail lights and strobes on the dash. I thought "wonder if the is Matthew, Jason, Peter" ?? Naw, they are looking for a phone. If it had been them, they would still have blinking lights behind the grill. Keep up the good work and keep em coming, only in the late 1990s.
