Summary: The End of the Begining or the Begining of the End?
Review: NiC is a novel that draw strong emotions from it's readers, as it's intended. Those who look to this book for the usual "On the case" Anita, will not find it here. This is a series arch book, one to push ahead the characters and series plot while leaving behind the stand alone plots we've become used to. Sex, vampires, were-wolves and kitties all play a large role in this book as well as wonderfull apperances by Dolph and Zebrowski.

We learn more about the characters that we needed to know more about and focus on those that are important to the series. Just why is Dolph always on Anita's case about Jean-Claude, Will Nathanial always be a victim? What is Jean-Claude and Asher's past? Those questions are mostly awnsered as are others. What is seen by most as a plotless porn novel is an enjoyable ride through character development for those that enjoy such things.

Sex scenes are libral in this book but enjoyable and fun to watch concidering the characters involved. We've come a long way from the virginal Anita we once knew and it's been a fun evolution to watch. And who better to join her then drop dead beautiful vampires and oh so sexy weres?

On the whole a wonderful book for those who enjoy change and character development...maybe not so wonderful for those who read Anita strickly for the action and fights.

Summary: Deliciously Refreshing
Review: A nice change from the previous nine but just as good in it's own right. Missed some of the mystery but was glad to see Anita changing and developing as a person - accepting what she was and what she is becoming without too much squimishness. Happy to see Richard (FINALLY!) put on the backburner. I'm sorry, he's just too much of a whiner. Anita needs an equal not a little boy in love with self-pity and self-loathing. Welcome Micah! He's too good to be true - we await to see why. And there is of course Nathaniel but that's another story... This book was wonderfully refreshing, fast paced, entertaining and I'm pining away for the next installment already. Excellent read!

Summary: This one of the best yet!
Review: Having read all of the Anita Blake books, I can honesty say this is the one that has had the most impact on me. I just finished reading it and I'm still shaking. Ths book is extremely provacoative. It gives you the excitement and adventure you've come to expect from Anita as well as the lust and mystery. It is exceptionally well written and like many of the past books, you start reading and it sucks you in, you simply cannot put it down, wanting to see what Anita will be up against next. This book is definately more introspective then the others. Anita spends more time trying to come to terms with what she is and is becomming. This is one I will definately read again and can't wait until the next one comes out.

Summary: Great as always but.......
Review: Although I inhaled this book in about 12 hours (including 8 at work, sorry boss), I was a bit disappointed with the ending. He wasn't hopeless, Anita! (I won't ruin the book for those of you who haven't read it yet.) And I'm sorry, but I just didn't like Micah. I loved his wholehearted acceptance of Anita and what she was, but he was too wimpy for my taste otherwise. He just isn't substituition enough for the one we may have lost. (Of course, I've been hung on Jean-Claude from the first and I never understood what Anita's dilemma was in the first place, but that's another story.) I very much look forward to the next installment of this series and I really hope Ms. Hamilton keeps up the good work. Although, I don't agree with the turn it took, I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it to anyone. Don't start reading this series unless you're prepared to become addicted to it.

Summary: Well Worth the wait...
Review: I do not want to spoil anything for you about the story, so all I am going to say is the this, in my opinion, was her BEST Anita book yet. I didn't want it to end, & was ticked when I finished the last page... I need to know MORE! :)
Hopefully, LKH will have many many more stories of Anita & all for quite a long time coming.

Summary: Classic Hamilton!!
Review: While you definitely should read the earlier books, this installment is fantastic! I couldn't put it down! I noticed that someone rated it 2-3 stars, yet mentioned they couldn't put it down either! Funny, heart-felt, hope for the good guys to win, with an edge, it's what I love about these books...

Summary: Wonderful!! Can't Wait For The Next One
Review: I waited anxiously for this new Anita Blake novel..and I wasn't disappointed. Old friends and new faces take Anita on anothe wild ride through the city of St. Louis. I was a bit disappointed that Edward didn't show up at some point, but Ms. Blake had enough to deal with what with all the wereanimals and vampires to deal with. The aition of the werefox could have been left out a I don't feel he added anything to the plot of the story, but otherwise another great story by LK Hamilton..I couldn't put it dow!!

Summary: I can only say on thing....READ IT!
Review: The only time this reader will ever be dissapointed or sadden by Hamilton's writing ability is when she stops writting.
This book was perfection from beginning to end. I love her books and her writting abilty. I love the way she gets me so wrapped up in her worlds, this realitly seems to break away and hers drags me into the depts of her imagination. I love this woman's writing Wiether it be Anita blake sereis(Honestly my favorites and they better never end) Or her other tales, which I loved as much.
Jean Claudes character was as witty and sharp as ever. Though I'd like more of him in her books. And Richard well what can I say, You want to kiss him one second and beat some sense in him the next.
But you ain't seen nothing from this executioner yet. Her appetite for life becomes more enthralling in each book. Her tangled loves, her Libedo and her morals all get pushed to the limits in this book.Of coarse staying away from both of her loves for so long has made a mess of things, but she has her own special talents of making the bo-bo's all better.
Believe me reading this book will make the next 3 days your best.
Blessed Be

Summary: A great twist in a great series
Review: I LOVED this book, as well as the whole Anita series. This book differs greatly from the others in the series, in that it deals more with Anita's personal life and relationships than with her solving homocide cases. It has it's own suspense and mystery, but in a much more personal way with Anita. You really need to have read the previous books to appreciate this one.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: A need-to-read for fans.
Review: I was a little disappointed with Laurell K. Hamilton's 10th book, Narcissus in Chains, only because it did not follow the same format as the previous books did. There is very little going on except for the details about Anita's new abilities. The only time a mystery is even introduced is towards the end, almost as an after thought. However, that's okay. the character development that was explored was needed and, I believe, will add a new direction for the series, instead of a same monster, different day pattern it was beginning to fall into. However, if you don't read this book, you may be lost when the next comes out.

i love this series and I think Narcissus in Chains was a satisfying, if not typical, book to add to the series.
