Summary: A great new theme to satisfy Jacques' fans.
Review: I, like so many of the other reviewers here, am an incredibly loyal reader of Brian Jacques' books - even if the themes do sometimes get a little repetitive. Not so with Taggerung! It was unpredictable and exciting from start to finish, with a refreshing cast of characters led by one of Jacques' most admirable creations yet. A departure from his usual renditions, it brought me back to the magic in the his earliest books. It has been over ten years since I became a fan of Brian Jacques, but this book just goes to show that he still has what it takes.

Summary: Taggerung
Review: I really liked this book because this is the type of setting I like. My favorite setting is medievil times and what Brian Jacques does is take that time period and mix it with rodents. Brian really describes his characters right down to the point. It was a very good book. The best part of the book was when the Juska clan came to attack Redwall. 300 Vermin were just outside Redwall, when Redwall only had 30 warriors. Then the Long Patrol showed up with a thousand fighting hares lead by the Badger Lord of Salamandastron came and sent the vermin running. It was a very good come back. Brian Jacques uses very good story elements in my opinion. I like the Medievil setting he uses. Brian also describes his characters very well. I can just imagin the creatures now.

Summary: The Taggerung
Review: Like all the Redwall books, this is a great, adventurous, novel of good versus evil. This is my favorite book by Brian Jacques, but not by far, because all the other are exellent. I'd highly recomend this book.

Summary: Best one yet!
Review: Brian Jacques has done it again! I have read all the Redwall books and this one is by far the best. I reccomend it to a loyal Redwall fan, or even someone who has never read a Redwall book. Fantastic!

Review: Brian Jacques's 14th novel in the fantasy series, Redwall, takes readers through suspenseful tale of good versus evil where the vicious vermin seek to destroy the percocious mice, moles, shrews, squirrels, and otters of Redwall Abbey. The villainous Juskarath clan, lead the inquitous Sawney Rath, of rats, weasels, foxes, and ferrets believe Deyna, an otter born of the community at Redwall, is their Taggerung, a great warrior destined to lead them to numerous victorys and whose birth marks a time of prosperity for the for the clan in which he is the leader. Members of the Sawney Rath clan murder Deyna's father and kidnap him from his home as a young otter. As Deyna grows, he embarks upon a search for his true family at Redwall.
As ever, Jaques' incredeble language gives his exciting adventures a magical quality. Jacques presents a tale of courageous warriors and vilanous evildoers alike, each group journeying toward conflicting ends. Taggerung is an intense page-turner with numerous plot twists that will keep readers on their toes.

Summary: Redwall Just Gets Better and Better
Review: This is a great book! It takes a slightly different view(kinda the bad guys view) from the other Redwall books, but if you have read and liked any of the others, you'll love this one. The Redwall story grows even more, and even though you'll have to say goodbye to one or two characters from previous books, you'll meet plenty of new ones to make up for it.

Summary: One of the best
Review: Brain Jacques outdoes himself in this tale of a otter cub stolen at birth by a villianous tribe. As the otter grows up he realizes something is wrong. He goes on a quest to find this missing piece. His search brings him to Redwall Abbey, and face to face with his widowed mother and sister.

Summary: A story of animals facing clan struggles and changes
Review: Sawney Rath have awaited their new leader as long as their clan can remember: now they have one in the form of "Taggerung", who will lead them to victory against the Redwall crowd. Familiarity with the author's prior Redwall books will lend an appreciation and immediacy to this ongoing Redwall story of animals facing clan struggles and changes.

Summary: Eh... Not his best
Review: I didn't mind this book... Though I have to admit, I almost dropped the book altogether after a vital character died. I mean, it was O.K., but it wasn't as... shall we say... exciting as his others. It was more emotional, but I guess no one's perfect. You can't say it was more mental, because the puzzles were PATHETIC, as I got them on the first try and that's a huge accomplishment for me. Personally, my favorite was Castaways of the Flying Dutchman, but of the Redwalls, I'd say Outcast of Redwall.

Anyways, if you never liked the violence, try this one. If you liked the fighting or tougher puzzles, be advised to skip this book.
