Summary: Oh dear
Review: AVOID THIS!

What a bad book. It doesn't even mention the Internet. It's just Bill trying to tell the world how great he is, and how great M$ are.

The new Business @ the speed of thought is just as bad. Business @ the speed of M$ products would mean going OUT of business

Summary: A Real Snoozer
Review: It's amazing how many people's reviews are shaded by their opinions of either Miscrosoft or Bill Gates. Most of these totally ignore the fact that the book itself it just plain BORING. His company makes good products - that doesn't make the book good. His company is a big, nasty monopoly - that doesn't make the book bad. To paraphrase Forest Gump...."Boring is a boring does" My opinion of the book? "zzzzzzzzzzzz"

Summary: bill gates shaping our future...
Review: The author bill gates wrote this book to simply shape the future in a way which he can make more money...I read the book two times...The author is in the border of authism, he thinks that people are stupid, and he constantly lies in his book thinking that people are going to believe him. I recommend it to everybody, to make them see how abnormal bill gates is and to make billy earn more money...

Summary: The Road Ahead?
Review: Hello, but this road ahead is ok for like mass marketeers, but it assumes that we all customers are going to NEED or WANT many of these things. There are a lot of assumptions here. And he is not that much more clear about the highway than the people he criticizes for not knowing what the highway means. An interesting book in the beginning, but I really thought the creator of Microsoft had more brains and vision.

Summary: Confusing...
Review: I am confused by some of the negative reader comments. Lighten up! This is a very enjoyable book. I highly recommend it, especially to people new to computers and the digital revolution. It seems odd to me that someone would buy a book written by Bill Gates about his vision for the course of technology, and then complain that it is a Bill Gates "pat on the back." I've never met Gates, but I bet he's beyond having to pat himself on the back. Buy the book. Proceeds go to charity and you'll learn something. Funny thing, I bought it, read it, loved it and I still use many software/technology products not made by Microsoft! Go figure!

Summary: Interesting book
Review: Read this book quite some time ago, but it was quite an interesting book, esp the part where he talked about how better quality products can actually become consumer standards if right business strategy is used. Im rather surprised to see so many lousy comments on this book.....this book deserve more credit. Probably those who wrote it are Netscape fans or something.....! Im not a fan of Bill, but whatever it is, since he is the richest guy in this planet he is really something......whether he copied others people's ideas or whatever.

Summary: True Genius comes from within
Review: Mr. Gates has enveloped the world on a wild ride to the future . Everyone knows that computers and the information highway is the way of the world - you can only learn to accept and adapt to it. To rebel against it, would only cause chaos and anarchy - which is what those so-called companies and the DOJ are trying to incite. Microsoft is the leader of all software technology and for anyone who thinks that it is monopoly and that Bill G is a capitalist pig... do you think you can do better?? Why don't you just try!! Way to go Mr. G

Summary: Interesting experience.
Review: If you want to read a boast about oneself - this is it. The book is Bill Gates patting Bill Gates on the back. It makes some curious and interesting forecasts but underneath it all, its a BOAST.

Summary: A Bunch of Baloney
Review: This book represents more of the PR drivel that Microsoft historically has dished out. It clearly proves that Gates has relied on the ideas of others for greatness, as the man does not have an original idea in his head. At the same time, it is true that he is a brilliant wheeler and dealer, and master manipulator of markets. His forte has been as a rip-off artist, as the evidence coming out in the current DOJ trial clearly shows. If the road ahead is dominated by Bill Gates, it will be a sorry state for consumers and competitors alike. Read "The Microsoft File: The Secret Case Against Bill Gates" instead.

Summary: Waste of trees!
Review: Bill Gates pats himself on the back once again in this book. It sounds to me like he did very little of the writing in this book. The writing style does not match the style that is found in Bill's other books. In one sentence...
