Rating: Summary: Excellent culmination to years of storytelling Review: I found All the Weyrs to be the most satisfying of the newer Pern books written in the 90's. Here McCaffrey takes on a plotline set up in Renegades and DragonsDawn. The book details a lot of technology introduced by the computer Aivas which was uncovered at the end of Renegades. But somehow reading about the characters learning about technology is not incredibly dry but rather entertaining. One of my favorite aspects of McCaffrey's writing is the simple and sweet voices of the dragons in speech. Here, Aivas, the computer, takes on a persona that is more sophisticated than the dragons but equally sweet. The venture to rid Pern of Thread involves ventures into space, some of which made me mentally balk at going "between" to a space ship. Also the book introduces the future political upheavals and problems with the introduction of the new technologies. All of our favorite charactors are here, particularly Jaxom and Sharra, Robinton, Lytol and of course F'lar and Lessa.
Rating: Summary: Satisfying wrap-up Review: I found this book to be a very satisfying wrap-up to the series. Highly recommended to die-hard Pern fans who have read every other scrap of Pern they could get their hands on!

Rating: Summary: Just great from start to finish Review: I have loved all of Anne McCaffrey's books since I discovered Dragonsong in third grade. All the Weyrs of Pern is a triumph. It has action, adventure, and sadly, tragedy. When I bought the book I didn't put it down till I finished it in the wee hours of that night with tears streaming down my face. It's a book that you must read.
Rating: Summary: I Love Pern in all it's Glory Review: I have read all of Anne McCaffrey's books.Pern series is my favorite. There is nothing more thrilling than to read about riding dragons.I have re read all of the Pern series over 8 times each. Not 1 of her books has any slow areas. They grab you and hold your attention right from the beginning. When that last page is done you beg for more.
Rating: Summary: The pinnacle of Anne's writing. Review: I have read almost all of Anne's works, and I found this to be by far the best book she has ever written. The death of the Masterharper is one of the most emotional and heartbreaking moments I have ever experienced. It brought a tear to my eye, and I am not an emotional person whatsoever. Anne, if you read this, this is the best of what you have done, including your collaborations. My advice from a very devoted fan; write alone, your true style comes through and that's what all your fans, including me, love about you.
Rating: Summary: Excellent Book You have to read this! Review: I have read and reread this book numerous times and i laugh and soemtimes cry everytime i read it. some people probably don't care about my opinion but i have read many of Anne McCaffrey's dragon books and i love them all. this one definatly stands out and it is superb! Read and you'll enjoy!
Rating: Summary: Very nice, a must-read for anyone who loves Pern Review: I have to say, some of McCaffrey's later works are really awful. If you have read the Renagedes of Pern you know what I mean -- BLEAK! Even the one about the start of Pern, Dragonsdawn or something, was really bad (don't read it, no, really, I mean it). This book, however, was golden, and an absolute must-read. Yes, do get a box of tissus for the end. But read it.
Rating: Summary: One of the best Pern books ever! Review: I read The White Dragon and wanted to know what happened when they dug up Landing and what they found there. Then I was looking around in the library and saw All the Weyrs of Pern on the shelf. I read it GREATLY enjoyed it, and I know you would too!
Rating: Summary: It was a Pern book, but not that good Review: I realy like Pern and all the books about it, but I feel that thred and the medeval atmosphere of the place realy defind the place and gave it the exitement and charm of the earler books. This book and the other later ones seem to be about solving all the problems Pern once had, making it a perfect world. This is unrealistic and ruens all the origanality the world once had. That is not to say I don't like the series, I love the first ones and the ones about Pern's past but this one is just not beliveble.
