Summary: 6 stars for this one
Review: I'm a virgin to the Dragonlance books, and I saw this book as the #5 bestseller at a loacal bookstore. At first I didn't think I would read much of it, but after the first chapter where Mina first comes in, and Galdar, the minatour, comes in I couldnt stop reading! If this book is not one of the better ones please e-mail me so I can read all of them. Jr-back@y-city.net The writing in this book is exilerating, and keeps you on the edge of your seat. A similie here, a metaphor here, its just invigorating. So, the people who have been reading the Dragonlance series from the beginning, tell me what the first edition was, I want to start from the beginning, and keep reading untill Weis, or Hickman passes away :]

Summary: Weis & Hickman do it again!
Review: It's still difficult to change over to all the new characters of 5th Age. Although Tasslehoff is still in this book, he is not the same person - I think he would be better off having died in DoSF. Other than not particularly enjoying Tasslehoof in this book, I immensly enjoyed this new installment. Weis & Hickman beautifully portray almost a new world for the 5th Age. I particularly like the way Gilthas is not the weakling I always thought he would be. Dalamar might not be quite so "missing" anymore. The "One God" sounds interesting - I want to know more about him! I am excitiedly awaiting "Dragons of a Lost Star."

Summary: Things change, most hate it, but things change.
Review: I have read allot of reader's opinons about this book and DoSF, and I have to say that this is Weis and Hickman's world.

They know the true heart of their work and would not disappoint themselves or their readers. They gave us characters we loved from the start and those we grew to love through all of their "trials by fire" and who is to say we will not enjoy the rest of time for Krynn?

Things change, that is the nature of time. Without change, things would be as they have always been, with no new heroes, no new villains and no new 'expendable for the sake of the plot' characters, there could really be no 'next age.' (Sorry had to throw the "Star Trek red shirts" in there) who lives forever? I was happy to read (Summer Flame) the close of some stories. How often have other authors fallen back on a world that was not theirs? ,far too many. And they failed in the telling of a story that, by all rights, had no business telling. (All due credit to the 'Elven Nations' trilogy and 'The Legend of Huma.' and so many other adpetations on the hints of history W&H brought to this world.)

I did find the book sluggish at times, I have been so use to the heart-pounding excitement of the War of the Lance to the 4th age that I was almost ready to put the book down and vow never to read another SCI-FI/Fantasy book ever again. However I found myself falling in love with this book.

Good is not always good and evil is not always evil. Allot of those types of conjecture are all a matter of perception. And there are so many ways to look at things. A Dark Knight respecting his enemy so much he makes him his friend and prisoner, both believing in honor and in a strange way respecting 'The Oath and the Measure.' (Friends foremost.) A strange zealot doing nothing more than what she believes is the right thing in the name of 'The One True God....'

Young and unseasoned heroes put through the task of taming a brave new world...

This is the type of novel that makes heroes. Much like our beloved heroes of the lance. Just like them, they will have to be dug from the earth of their souls, heated, poured, filtered, folded beaten, hardened, and cooled over and over again to make them the same bright steel that has been laid before them, or they'll break and bend to unfold even a darker time, a time that has never come to pass. A time that will shape and fold readers and it's authors for all 'time's' sake.

(And on a lighter note, is Krynn trapped in the Graygem or what?!)

Summary: SWEEEET
Review: Prolley the best book i've ever read, with a little more action in it this book is the best ive ever read, this is a must get for anyone who likes to read, if you dont like this books you dont like dragonlance.

Summary: worthy of the name dragonlance....
Review: the fifth age books really turned me off of dragonlance until weiss and hickman came out with this one. I mainly read it just for their amazing writing style, but once you get into it the book really hooks you. Just the thought of Tasselhoff back in Krynn makes me smile. Other than the fabulous writing, our supposed "heroine" Mina comes off a bit too much like Joan of Arc, who are we really supposed to dislike in this book? Caramon's son Palin is back with a dark and reviling attitude, and we're introduced to a solamnic knight who's not totally accepted by his brothers. If this is an allusion to another Sturm Brightblade, I'm highly dissappointed! This brand new "true God" is a bit disturbing. All the gods have fled and practically all the magic is gone as well, where did this new god come from and what are his motives? If you're a fan of weiss and hickman you will enjoy this book but hardcore dragonlance fans don't have much to look forward to in the fifth age.

Summary: Dynamic Duo
Review: If any two writers can save the lagging interest in the 5th age its Weis and Hickman. This dynamic duo continue to prove that they are perhaps one of the greatest writing teams in the history of fiction.

This book was written and put together extremely well. Dragons of a Fallen Sun does a great job in coving the background of what has happened in the 5th age as well as tying it all together with the end of the 4th age and the chaos wars. The introduction of some very interesting new heroes and villains along with some old favorites makes for a great combination and bridge into the new age.

There were times I felt I knew what was going to happen next, and I must admit sometimes I was wrong. The plot twists and turns and keeps the reader wanting more and more. One more chapter became my favorite saying over two days. I wait in anticipation for the next book in the series to be released. Once again Weis and Hickman have me hooked on dragonlance

Summary: excellent but...
Review: this is an excellent book overall; it reallly kept me in suspens as to what will happen next. however it was just ended like the book "vinas solamnus" in the sense that they just stopped wirting as if to discuss what happened.

again this was a great book except for the ending.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: A good read.
Review: Good plot with lots of room for development in the rest of the series. The characters are not as deeply explored, suplemented by a lot of fluff. Sometimes, from chapter to chapter, you get the sense of the cookie-cutter style of the overal structure of the storyline. But, still a fun read. The ending leaves you a bit in the lurch without much really being resolved. But, I look forward to reading part two to see where the story goes. I would have also liked the story better had the previous heroes/characters been integrated a bit more thoroughly....

PS1 Mina = Raistlin | PS2 That's my guess. What is yours?

Summary: History
Review: All I have to say is this--if history has it's say, then DoLS will make everyone realize how and why the War of Souls trilogy will be one of the best works created by Weis and Hickman.

Summary: A Different Time
Review: Dragons of a Fallen Sun, is keeping the DragonLance name strong. This novel is different in a good way. This is a changing time in the Dragonlance series. Instead of having a light at the being of a tunnel, walking into the darkness. You are in a dark hole, working your way out of the darkness.

The characters in this novel are not the same ones for Legends and Chronicles. These characters have different problem then in previous books. The characters are being developed in a harsher environment then the other books. There is no goodness in this new world. Characters in this novel are trying to bring back the goodness into the world.

I do think that this is a darker novel then the previous ones. But it is a good change; it makes for different heroes, friends and villains. I think that everybody well enjoy the new struggle for good in this book.
