Summary: This book cannot help much to develop fluent German.
Review: After hearing this course you are able to compose very primitive German phrases only. Don't expect any fluency because the vocabulary is too basic, don't expect you can understand German speech after hearing this course. This course just gives you very rough idea what German language is. Very funny - their first mistake is located right on the 1st page - "drie" instead of "drei". So if you want to learn German - buy another course.

Summary: Greatly simplifies a very complicated language.
Review: I am of German descent but always avoided learning German because the task seemed so daunting. I finally decided to take a chance with Language Dynamics Audio Fluency German because they touted the fact they their courses were fast and easy. Ich kann jetzt Deutsch sprechen. I can speak quite a bit of basic German now I have only been using the tapes for a few weeks. The rest speaks for itself.

Summary: So La La
Review: So la la is the german word for "just okay," and that is what these tapes are. For starters, "I like" is incorrectly translated to "Ich möchte" all throughout the tapes. In German, "I like" is "Ich mag," and "I would like" is "Ich möchte." My partner, who is German corrected this. Who knows what else incorrect? These tapes have been somewhat helpful for me because I am in a German class, so a lot of what I listen to is review. But if you have never had German before, I can't believe that these would he helpful. It sounds like the guy who made the tapes made them in his garage with a friend who was German. These weren't horrible, but really think there must be some better ones out there. I suggest going to your local library and trying some out before you buy any or maybe even dubbing the ones from your library instead of buying them.
