Summary: Wow. Blew me away
Review: Wow, this book really takes the cake. Last book I read that was so interesting was Differential Diagnosis of Oral Lesions by Wood and Goaz. But this. Wow, man. This guy is getting a lot of money for this book. And have you ever seen him on t.v.? Man. That whiny voice and the dude gets published big time on uncovering the president (what did the president do that was such a big deal anyway?). Man, these whiny little twirps got the power! And the guts to hawk it to thoughtful, reflective readers like me and you. Cool. America is a place where you can rip off freely. This is investigative journalism at its best. It's also buck inspired nosing into other people's business. But, hey, this whiny little guy probably has nothing better to do. Bet he makes hors d'oeuvres from Martha Stewart's new hors d'oeurves handbook. Yeah, that's probably what this whiny dude would do. Yeah, he's probably going to drop a load of bucks on Martha Stewart. Cool.

Summary: The book never exposed the attempted real coup d'etat.
Review: The book was disappointing because it never exposed just how and why Bob Fiske was replaced by Ken Starr. Even worse, Isikoff said he realized that he was in the middle of a conspiracy to get the President, but dwelled only upon the machinations of Tripp/ Goldberg/ Colter/ "The Elves," etc. He ignored the constitutional issue of members of the Legislature (Helms & Faircloth & ?) attempting a coup d'etat against the Prez in collusion with members of the Judiciary (Sentelle and the other two judges, & ?.) Isikoff ignored the important and dwelled upon the salacious. Someday, he might make a good gossip columnist. Don Loughlin, Bellingham, WA

Summary: Should Be Placed In The Bathroom In Case U Run Out Of Paper.
Review: Oh Please, Spare Us Your Pseudo Opinions! After reading just a tad of this book and looking over the rest, does anybody want to hear from this root weasel of a reporter? I mean, come on now, first he had the story and then claimed his Magazine made him sit on it, then when it was announced by someone who beat him to the story, Isikoff was caught with many wrong stories like there is a stained Dress and there is no Dress, then when the true facts come out he claims he now knew there was a plot to get the President, but the President did do these things, Clinton did lie to the American people and the Grand Jury and now Isikoff is saying Mea Culpa's for intruding on a President who cheats on his wife and lies whenever he feels like it....Do we really have to listen or read anything this little Gnome feels he has to say??? If you do, save your money and read it at the Library.

Summary: fascinating insight into investigative reporter's world.
Review: I loved this book. Reminiscent of "All The President's men". What struck me most - in addition of the tediousness of reporters' work at times-was the tug of war Michael Isikoff experienced between his reporting and his ethics. This book takes it's reader for the ride through the backstage of this national disaster. It is a great read!

Summary: A Rich Portrait of How Information Moves Around Washington
Review: Isikoff's book is, most of all, eminently readable. I read it in one sitting, and I suspect most other people will read it that way, too. The amount of information about the Jones/Willey/Lewinsky saga in this book that I didn't know was kind of startling. In particular, Isikoff's footnotes are fascinating. Overall, this book makes a great case for a few key issues central to the whole mess: first, Clinton and his team were very accomplished liars, second, there was a mini-conspiracy of sorts to take him down, and third, none of this was ever "just about sex." I would recommend this book to anyone who wants an even-handed, detailed look into how people in Washington move information, and how that affects what the general public ultimately sees, reads or hears in the news media.

Summary: Good investigative journalism
Review: Michael Isikoff's stunning book goes right to the heart of the controversey that gripped our nation for over a year: what would be Martha Stewart's next book? And what do we find? Cosmic reserpine analogs scattered on cell walls and, in the fissures of our teeth, icky things that go "boo" in the night. With swiss cheese alacrity, Isikoff pockets a lot of bucks, but his presentation lacks a good salad dressing. Hence, this book isn't readable without knowing the intricacies of Martha Stewart's salad dressing recipes. And what does this have to do with Ravi Shankar and the inspired noodling he offers to Vishnu every Saturday night? I don't know... but then, I wouldn't want to give away the plot. A good read for the thoroughly bored.

Summary: best book on clinton i have read
Review: Mr Isikoffs book brilliantly illustrates what a sociopathic scumbag Clinton really is. I was ashamed of voting for him in 1992 however in 1996 I saw what a sleazeball we had for a president & voted for Bob Dole. It was primarily Clintons actions, not the activities of his political enemies, that precipitated the biggest political scandal since Watergate. I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in what is going on in our government.

Summary: Very well-written, tells the story and how it came to light!
Review: Isikoff's very well-written book sums up the story of Clinton and Jones, Lewinsky, et al, and also tells how this story came to be told. Even if you think you've overdosed on this sorry affair, here is a book you should read. The uncovering of Clinton (Isikoff's reporting, the machinations of Tripp, Goldberg, Jones' lawyers, etc) is as important and fascinating as Clinton's own reckless behavior.

Summary: I'll subscribe to Newsweek.
Review: Isikoff fills in the morder between the cracks of the White House Scandal. It reads like a "Who's Who" of the whole affair.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: I REST MY CASE
Review: Finally the whole truth about the most dishonest and sick president since Nixon. Clinton is finally exposed as the scumbag that he really is. This country should be ashamed for giving him its support. Then again, every country has the government it deserves. The only good thing is that Clinton will forever be marked as a sociopathic liar, the title he deserves.
