Rating: Summary: Keep 'em coming, Carlson. Review: This is the best Wedding Gift ever. If you feel it's too puny, include it in something else. But then again, I'm prejudiced - I give books for every occasion. The Carlsons' "love" advice can nip bad habits of newlyweds in the bud. A lot harder to change direction once the ball's in the air. Don't Sweat is something you can read every year as a reminder - those old habits die hard!
Rating: Summary: 100 Things I Should Do Review: When a person is having problems in relationship the last thing someone needs is to be Patronized. This is the reductionism of the difficulty of humanity. It is at times very difficult to be involved in a relationship. This book is like that pat on the back that you get from a buddy saying 'aah everything ul be alright pal, ya just gotta look on the bright side.' You know those types of friends that avoid intimacy at all costs. Thats what I felt like reading this book. I received this book as a Christmas gift and was very anxious to read it and learn something new and useful. Only to find it shallow and uninformative. I am very suprised that the ideas in this book were written by an individual with a Ph.D.! Anyone could conjure up such ideas within a week and publish a book just as effective.I supposed this book was written for those who want something happy to read about regarding 'the little things.' Those who believe that we sweat the small stuff all too often are destined for mediocrity. Life does not fit neatly into a list of 100 things to do that make life better. Each person has a unique personality that is individual and different. One hundred things to do to make it all better is Patronizing and offers no insight into relationship. You and I already know this book inside and out before we even read it. If you are having problems in relationship and need guidance, this is not the book that will help you. If you want to confirm what you already know about the little things than this is your book.
