Summary: A humurous metaphor: The USA and the Clinton Presidency
Review: Poetic, Written long b4 Clinton was president. It is an excellent summary, on an emotional level, of what any group of well meaning autocrats can do. My daughter brought it to me. I wanted to send it to all my friends as a humurous commentary on recent politics. The book stands on its own as a warning and and an observation of group behavior. Peers CAN be very wrong. ARE WE ALL ASLEEP? Are WE sheep? A book to KEEP! hehehehh

Summary: My New Favorite
Review: Straight to the point: I Love this Book. My eighteen month old son loves books that ryhme and loves animals so Sheep in a Jeep is close to heaven. The vocabulary is very simple but gains momentum right along with the rolling jeep. And the illustrations are perfect. I love the little frog that kind of follows the jeep. But I must warn you, if you buy this book your child will have you reading it over and over and over.

Summary: Lots and lots of fun
Review: Talk about clever! This is a wonderful book---one which will amuse your toddler and one which you will be able to read (and re-read and re-read) without growing bored. These sheep are wonderful---their adventures (told in Shaw's great rhyming style) are tremendous fun and Apple's illustrations really bring those trouble-ridden sheep to life. I have bought this book for lots of newborns as a baby present and I can't recommend this highly enough. Most of my friends (the babies' parents) have told me that they have enjoyed reading the book over and over again---long before their child was old enough to appreciate it.

Summary: Great for older toddlers, not babies
Review: The story and pictures are cute but too subtle for my 15 month old to understand. Better for an older (2+) child.

Summary: Fun For Parents, Too!
Review: This book is a scream! The great rhyming cadence is terrific for little ones; my one-year-old son just loves it and giggles whenever we read this to him. And the story is just so silly that you just can't help laughing. It's nice that the author of a kids' book kept the parents in mind!

Summary: Sheep in a Jeep
Review: This book is great. My daughter loves this book as do we. We also have Sheep in A Shop. This book is quite special as my daughter loves to ride in daddys Jeep. Although its aimed at the 1-4 year olds, its great reading for the whole family at story time.

Summary: Uniquely hilarious
Review: This book uses wonderful words and pictures to describe the escapades of 5 hapless sheep. My girls and I think that the sheep are hilarious. I think the rhyme is creative and has an interesting cadence that makes you think about the words. It does not lull you into numbness like Suess. The concepts are also a bit more complex than other early books. (i.e. selling the jeep "cheap") It is a good addition to the library of the 2+ crowd.

Summary: Sheep in a Jeep
Review: This is one of the most delightful children's books I have ever read. My two and a half year old and almost six year old both love the rhyming, hilarious story about sheep cramming themselves into a jeep and the misadventures that follow. It's a perfect book for both little ones and kids learning how to read.

Summary: best of the sheep books
Review: This is the best of the Shaw/Apple sheep series. I enjoy it (and if you're reading a book over and over, that helps!) and I haven't found a two year old yet who doesn't like it at least a little. (Some like it more than a little.)
