Rating: Summary: How does she do it? Review: It's amazing again, how DS places herself & the reader in the shoes of a man. (Most of us readers of DS are women) It's great. This is a tear-jerker too. But it is one of those stories that when you are finished, you feel like you've really been somewhere, seen something, learned, experienced. Her books do that. She's a great writer!
Rating: Summary: It's a heart-warming story! A must read! Review: Like some of the reviewers, I thought this book to be about some screw-up daddy! But I was wrong...it's a ride of emotions that will put a tear to your eyes (if you're very emotional!) right from the start! It displays the strength of a father (Oliver) who also has to be a mother to all his 3 children after Sarah left them to pursue her studies. Double thumbs up for this particular "Daddy"! Cheers Danielle!
Rating: Summary: Fantstically written! Review: This book really plays with my emotions. I find myself hating Sarah and I cried my eyes out towards the end.
Rating: Summary: It was an inspiring piece of reading! Review: This book though purely fictional made me realize the vicissitude of human existence. We are never really satisfied with our present life which is almost always tinged with monotony but once a sudden change brings our routine habits to an end, we start craving for our previous (formally much despised)way of living all over again. I wonder whether Sarah Watson really found her true salvation after settling as a post graduate student in Harvard. As Oliver said repeatedly in the novel, " She already achieved a lot but she isn't aware of her achievements", which is very true! That's in fact the story of each and every one of us.....We always wait for the station in our life journey but we don't know(fools that we are) that we have long reached it. I'm sure that Sarah later would really want to revert back into the comforting arms of Oliver but that of course would then be too late since Oliver would have settled down with the glamorous Charlotte! After all relationships cannot be forgotten in a twinkle of an eye-which Sarah seemed to have done!
Rating: Summary: A Story of Courage and Comittments in Father Figurers Review: This book took a 360 degree turn on the image portrayed in the media today of men in all rolls of life. Contrary to today's' movies and advertisements, this book showed strong, intelligent, loving, caring and committed men in the father roll of their families. There are a number of turns in the plot that cause the reader to have to keep guessing as to the outcome of the situations and the end of the book. I found myself getting so angry with Sarah for her actions and decisions she made which affected each family member so painfully. Her children did not ask to be brought into the world and did not deserve the decision she made. The book is great as most of Ms. Steels' books are.
Rating: Summary: Must Read Review: This book was great I loved it. I bought the book and the movie, also very good. If your looking for a great book about a devoted father then this is it.
Rating: Summary: Daddy in Review Review: This book was interesting. At first I didn't get the title because all it talked about in the beginning was Sarah. I thought they should have called the book Mommy. Finally after I read on further I realized why the book was called Daddy. Oliver had to go through his wife going back to school and raising three kids on his own. Ben, the oldest son, had to deal with his girlfriend and their soon to be child. Oliver's father had to deal with the death of his wife and the finding of a new love. You need to feel bad for the fathers because of all the hardships they went through with their wives/girlfriends. It is somewhat of a tear jerker. I give it four stars!

Rating: Summary: Not A Page Turner! Review: This book was the perfect example of what a man would have deal with when his wife leaves him with the kids instead of him leaving her. I was happy with the fact that DS made him work at it instead of having him say some meaningful things about the mother Sarah leaving and the kids accepting it and everything going smoothly we all know there are bound to be some troubles the perfect example is Ben the oldest son getting his girlfriend pregnant. I was REALLLY happy when the father Oliver got his second chance just like Sarah took hers I found myslef hating the mother for putting her children in that situation what kind of mother does that but on the other hand being a woman I understand her actions she wanted to know when was it going to be her turn? To live life without having to worry about kids and a husband or what to make to for dinner? I loved this book and I think everyone should read it.
