Rating: Summary: Not just a tawdry romance Review: "Daddy" is about Oliver Watson who thinks he has everything. He has a great life with the quentissential American Dream: wife, kids, house, dog. That is, until his wife Sarah decides that she wants to go back to school...away from him and the kids.Everything in Oliver's world starts to fall apart: his oldest son gets a girl pregnant and his mother with Alzheimer's is in an accident and dies. Through watching his family cope with the obstacles in their lives and watching his father fall in love again, Oliver realizes that he too must move on with his life. This was the first Danielle Steel novel that I read and I was impresses. It wasn't just a tawdry romance novel. There was also a made-for-TV movie based on this book. It starred Patrick Duffy (Oliver), Linda Carter (Charlotte) and Kate Mulgrew (Sarah). Ben Affleck played the oldest son.

Rating: Summary: worthy to read!!!!!!! Review: A book which has open my eyes, to the fact that we usually seems to forget how to appreciate what we have and love....Steel also remind us to think truly before stepping to the other world that we don't know what's waiting for us and if we do so try to look into the positive site of it if any bad thing happened because of our decision. A book which I had suggets to other and they thank me for it.
Rating: Summary: Not A Page Turner! Review: After reading Silent Honor, A Pefect Stranger and many before, I thought I really loved Danielle Steel's books. But then...I read Fine Things and then Daddy, I didn't like all two of them. I noticed that in these three books, that someone leaves and then their spouse quickly remarries. Kind of the same plot over and over! I feel that her best book was The Promise, the characters ended up together at the end (GREAT BOOK!) Happy Readings!
Rating: Summary: Danielle Steel's best book ever!! Review: Daddy keeps you on the edge of your seat, the whole book! The family is torn apart, but everthing is put back together. It just proves that a single parent can make everthing work. It gave my mom the strenghth to go on, I am very grateful that Danielle Steel wrote this book
Rating: Summary: What a book ? Review: Daddy, by Danielle Steel is a wonderful book or love, hope, and happiness. This book is a change from the domestic cliches you're used to hearing about. Sarah and Oliver Watson were married for twenty five years, but one day out of the blue Sarah decided to go back to college, and take writing classes. Going back to Harvard meant leaving her husband, and three kids to run the house by themselves. Will she ever come back? The kids were distraught, their lives torn apart. Will they ever return to normal? In this enjoyable story, Ms. Steel will make you laugh, cry,and even fall in love. She impresses the reader with complex, and curious plotlines, but pleasantly simple writing style. Daddy, is an excellent choice, if you want a great book to read over the summer.fd
Rating: Summary: Cool Book Review: Daddy, Read this book years ago when I had all the time to lie on my bed and read novels and not much school work to do.But now things have changed a bit. ANyway I still remember Daddy. That was beautiful hear-touching story of a father taking up the responsibilities of the family and trying to be a good friend to his children and helping them out with their problems. And ofcourse there were problems int he family. You have to read the book to know it. A family drama with emotions being strongly displayed and understanding between the characters. Happy Reading
Rating: Summary: The best book I've read! Review: Danielle Steel does an execellant job of showing the readers what a man like Oliver has to go through. She does a great job of keeping the readers attention. It was really hard to put the book down from the start. It has to be the best book by Danielle Steel. She takes the characters and shows us one by one how they all deal with Sarah's decision. She also does a great job portraying Oliver, who hardly ever runs out of energy. I was a little disappointed that there wasn't more about how Mel felt about Sarah's decision.I found myself wondering how Mel delt with all of it. I thought the book ended to soon. Overall, I think that Daddy was a very worthwhile book to read if only it could have been a little longer!
Rating: Summary: Daddy Review: Danielle Steel's "Daddy" was the best novel i have ever read. All 386 pages were filled with emotion and romance and it was so exciting. Oliver Watson and his three children, Benjamin, Mel, and Sam, and Oliver's ex-wife, Sarah, cause so much emotion through out the book. When SArah leaves her family in Purchase you want to hate her. However, you realize she is doing what she has always wanted but never been able to do. When charlie comes into thier lives you think that she is the perfect woman for Oliver and the family. When Charlie gets asked " Are you .... are you Charollette Sampson?" and she replies "No the names Watson" you know that Oliver has finally found his happiness in life. From the title "Daddy" I thought the story would be about a screw up father who does nothing but screw up his family. But i was wrong, it ended up to be the mother that hurt the family. Oliver Watson was the ideal father;eventhough, there were times that things got too out of control he alwys seemed to gain back the control. "Daddy" by Danieele Steel is a perfect ten.I recommend this book to anyone who likes romance and lots of emotion; you honestly can not put this book down.
