Review: This may be Sheldon Siegels first book, but you couldn't guess. I was captured from the start. There were several times I couldn't turn it off...I would just sit in my car and listen in my garage. The plot twists were great and it surprised me right to the end. Mike Daley is a character I can't wait to read about again. I look forward to Siegel's next novel!

Review: This novel totally takes you in from page one. You just keep turning the pages quickly until before you realize it, hours have passed! My husband and I both read this book and both couldn't put it down - loved it! The main character is witty, and gives you a legal thriller that will keep you wondering, entertained, and will amaze you right to the end. For his first novel, this new author gives us an incredible legal thriller. I will buy his next book as soon as it hits amazon.com!

Review: Towards the end of this book, Mike Daley says that the legal thriller 'has been done to death'. I agree, but Sheldon takes this genre to new heights. I've read a bunch of legal thrillers and this is by far the best of the bunch. His characters are smart and intriguing and the story is relentless. Once you start this book, you won't want to do anything else until you finish it. I can not wait for the next Mike Daley book and look forward to many more books by Sheldon Siegel. Great job on your first novel, Sheldon..... I think you found your calling!

Summary: SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES - A Special Book
Review: Loved this book...much more interesting than any of Grisham's lawyer novels. Sheldon Siegel's writing style is most welcome in the legal genre which can be dry & humorless. He writes a well-paced & entertaining story filled with diverse, clearly drawn characters, both good & bad. The plot is inventive & contains many surprises: Seigel portrays an interesting insight into the legal arena. His writing is sprinkled with humor & he has a deft touch with sarcasm. Particulary liked his main character, Mike Daley, I'd hire him to represent me any day; what a guy (tho not real). Now that I'm hooked, Mr. Siegel, let's have another....and thank you.

Summary: Excellent debut effort
Review: The Amazon reviews said this was a can't miss and that's a fairly accurate assessment. The first half of the book sets the stage for the last half, the trial, which for my money carries on a little too long at two hundred pages. Still, it's inifinitely better than anything that the cookie-cutter, bang 'em out, drivvle master, John Grisham has published in the last five years. I'd highly recommend it.

Review: The first 400 pages 'kept adding helium to my interest baloon'. The more I read, the harder it was for me to put it dowm. I enjoyed Sheldon's writing style and his ability to weave a meaningful and suspensful story. It kept me guessing until the last 30 pages when I realized who the killer was and the motive for the murders. However, the ending still left me a little flat. I wish I could suggest a better ending, but I can't. Maybe my expectations were too high as I neared the end of the book, and no ending would have fulfilled my expectations. If you are into lawyer novels, you will still like this one. Read it, it's worth it!

Review: I love a good legal thriller and Siegel's book is the best I've read in a long time. Not only is this a great story, but the main character, Mike Daley, does not take himself too seriously. Siegel's dry, sarcastic style are delightful. You will love reading this book.

Summary: Out runs "The Brethren" by a mile!
Review: Being a Grisham fan, I picked up and read "The Brethren" the first week it was out. What a disappointment. Then I came across this book which Amazon.com had chosen to highlight. I had to get my legal "fix" and this book seemed to be a hopeful alternative to all the others. I was pleasantly surprised! It was fast paced, hard to put down, and packed with legal courtroom battles. The ending was unsatisfying, but since I do not want to give the book away I will not elaborate here. Lets just say that the ending caused the loss of one star. Do not let that deter you from reading this surprise legal thriller. I can't wait for his next book.
