Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: The Best Laid Plans Review: We think it's a pretty good book because it points out that even governors and presidents don't always say the truth and forbidden things, in this case using liquid ecstasy. This is important and interesting because it's opening people's eyes to the fact that these things happen in the real life, too. It also demonstrates the strength of a woman who wants to take revenge. And the unscrupulousness of people who over-ambitious. In our opinion the author tries to make the reader see that political decisions are not always made on the basis of rational thinking or political far-sightedness.

Review: When I first saw the book I thought it would be boring because it looked like. By starting reading the book it became suspense. But in the second half it became difficult because in every chapter the scene changed. So when I one day didn't go on reading and then started with a new chapter I didn't know what happened before. It is very easy written and so very easy to read. The story is nearly realistic. It's not like normal life, but it's also no "superman"-story. There are different but interesting characters. The book is an animation to try to realize dreams because the characters pursue their aims, although they were very high.

And after reading the first page I became even more disappointed because I didn't know any bloody vocabulary (I'm from Germany). So I picked up my dictionary and translated the whole book. After a year I had finished reading and started to think about the story and I must say that the novel isn't so boring like it looks like to me before I didn't understand any word. At the end it's suspenseful. Last but by no means least I think this book is a novel for adults because in the story is much about politics and many s..!
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Good book Review: When I opened the book I really didn't know what to expect. But while reading I was getting more and more disappointed: · no illustrations · small letters · too many words · no instruction for producing liquid ecstasy They kept talking about it, but nobody said how to produce it. But on the other hand the book isn't too bad. The changes of perspective the author keeps using make the book suspenceful. There is an interesting plot with very different characters to identify with. On reading you really feel with the characters and thus understand their reactions. As there are no exaggerations in the story it sounds very realistic indeed. All in all it's an interesting book, which is easy to read and to understand.Agnetha Grünstern Stefanie Alshuth Daniela Joachimi
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Very Good Review: I thought The Best Laid Plans by Sidney Sheldon was a very good book. It wasn't all based on one thing like most books are. It has some twist and turns I agree with others. But it was basically a book showing the truth that goes on with higher authority figures. Poor Lesile got stuck with nothing and Oliver is what you'd call a "player". I think you should read this book if you like politics, and if you like books that are like a mystery but not totally.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Another good book from Mr. Sheldon! Thanks for it! Review: Thanks Mr. Sheldon for another sensational book.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Very Good Review: This book opened my eyes that money plays a very important role in one's life. It's a good book with many twists and turns that makes it so enjoyable.
Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: Sheldon Needs to do Some Research Review: The characters are shallow and the plot is ridiculous, the story mindless. Sheldon may have been on the right track when he thought of the idea for the novel, but the idea did not pan out into one of his best. As far as "liquid ecstacy" goes, it is not some cocktail that you drink and it makes you feel "sexy". Those who take "liquid ecstacy", which it is never referred to as on the street, is really GHB. GHB has deadly effects and can not be drank. It is taken in small capfuls. It puts a person in a euphoric state, and makes him or her energized. The person will most likely go into seizures after that and lose respiratory flow if he or she overdoses. This is always a result when the person taking GHB is already drunk or on drugs. GHB is a serious epidemic and it is not a "sexy" drug, and neither is ecstacy. Sheldon is misleading his readers with inaccurate information. I was told to read this book because I have a Masters in Journalism and the Dana Edwards reporting thing is way off base. First of all, she would never be allowed to "fill in" for an anchor in the Washington D.C. market, hello? No reporter gets a gig like that after filling in prime time once- get real!
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: Not worth my time! Review: After finishing this book within hours, it seems this book is not worth my time. The storyline leaves much to be desire and whats this about the best laid plans? I don't think there is any indication about any plan. This book is trying to tell me that as a great leader, you can get away with anything. What with Oliver confessed to Jan that he's unfaithful and she still support him. He is the one who has betrayed Leslie love and while Oliver gets all the reconigtion, Leslie gets all the humiliation. In the end he becomes the hero of USA and get all the credits while Leslie losses everything she had. Hmmm... i think SS is being very unfair on all the characters in this book. I obviously wouldn't recommend this book to anyone.
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: This book was not released, it ESCAPED! Review: Truly, this book is awful. Plot twists? Maybe if you're a 2nd grader. This is a terrible, terrible book. The publisher can keep my money, I wan't my time back.
