Rating: Summary: Another Sheldon Suspense Sizzler! Review: This book is another typical Sheldon thriller filled with suspense, intrigue, murder, revenge, and mystery. Sheldon once again leaves the reader clueless until the very end on who the actual killer is. The title of the book is a double whammy as several best laid plans, well . . . you will see!I am big Sheldon fan and the only disappointing aspect of this book was the ending. I felt the ending was very flat and boring! The characters were intriguing and several sub-plots were occurring which contributed to the increasing suspense of the tale. If you are a Sheldon fan, you won't be disappointed with this thriller! Sheldon leaves you hanging until the very end! This book is a fast read and you won't want to put it down either!
Rating: Summary: Best Laid Plans Review Review: I've read quite a few Sidney Sheldon books, and this one was a letdown. If it hadn't been for the ending, I wouldn't of liked the book much. Yet, when you start reading the book, and take note of the title, you sort of knew the ending already (if you've read as many Sheldon books as I have). I would not say that this book was excellent, and it was not terrible either. But hey, if you're a Sheldon fan like myself, you'll WANT to read every single one of his books.
Rating: Summary: Not up to par Review: I read the hardcover of this book and was thinking to myself when Sheldon had started to write 6th grade books. The writing was a dobule spaced 12 font or something like that, I could have fit the entire book into one half it's length with proper type setting. I mention this, because I think it was a ruse by the publisher to try and make this book more imrpessive than it really was. This book didn't have very good character development, and the plot twists were contrived; it seemed as though Sheldon wrote this book under duress, and didn't really care how it turned out so long as there was a final product. I have read many of Sheldons books, and have enjoyed most if not all of them, I am really surprised at this book falling below the level of excellence that his other books have established. This book is signature Sheldon with the plot twisting and exciting plot and setting, but is a pale shadow of some of his better work. Read another one of Sheldons older works before you judge him from just this book, I feel that his earlier work is far better.
Rating: Summary: Readable, but... Review: This book was readable, but left me unsatisfied. I would have liked Leslie to be a strong character (eg Jennifer Parker, Tracey Whitney, Kate Blackwell) but she came off as being bitchy and petty. Rather than drawing on her personal tragedies to come out on top, she was goaded into recklessness and the whole fiasco blew up in her face. Sadly, I didn't feel bad for her. I prefer characters that are appealing enough to root for. Also, Dana, who was highly likable, seemed out of place, almost an afterthought. It was as though she wandered into this book without substantial cause. In all, the book was worth a read. Not terrible, but not worthy of Sheldon's name.
Rating: Summary: Sheldon's worse Review: First of all the book is about the political world, I think there is enough about poltics on tv without this book, secondly the characters aren't likable, expect for Dana. Lesley was okay at at first then i stopped feeling sorry for her when her revenge led to treating other badly, plus the plot isn't good. The only good thing was Dana in Sarajevo even though I didn't see how that fit in the main plot. At least Sidney SHeldon researched the subject well as he usually those but this novel was really terrible.
Rating: Summary: Good story/shallow, insipid characters Review: Hmmm, no time for character development, Mr. Sheldon? Well the story is good, strong plot, twists, turns, etc., however were these elements not as intriguing as they were, this book would have hit the wall. I knew the characters were cardboard cutouts the minute you said that Lesley became an account executive after being a junior copywriter. First of all, NO AEs aka "suits" are previous copywriters -- or hardly ever! Writers write, just like you! In today's ad agencies writers are called: Creatives. Account Executives are not Creatives. AEs DON'T concept ideas for campaigns. Anyway, this is what made your characters seem silly to me. And Lesley began at a P.R. agency, so why were they coming up with ad campaigns? P.R. is based on journalism, not creative and marketing! Maybe some people don't care about reality based characters, but I do. I still enjoyed your twists and turns, but I really wish you'd do your research when it comes to professions outside of your own. Thanks!
Rating: Summary: Could of been better.... Review: I am a big fan of Sidney Sheldon. I did like this book but it could of been better, I thought the end was very good. Overall, a good book if you can't find anything else to read.
Rating: Summary: Great story line! Review: I haven't read any of Sheldon's books in awhile and this was excellent! Very interesting setting and characters. I enjoyed it from start to finish.
Rating: Summary: Good book! Review: When I opened the book I expected an interesting and realistic story. I liked, that it was easy to read but unfortunately there were so many pages. I also dislike that I couldn't identify me with anyone of the characters.
Rating: Summary: T Review: On opening the book I expected it to be very boring. But I must admit that after reading the first five chapters I changed my mind about it. The many different characters are giving a very thrilling part to it. It' s very interesting how Sheldon connects three different stories into one similarly story. Also I think that there is build up a lot of exciting. Although there is a lot of difference between the characters but in the end they find together.
